Functional floor plans

Whatever the need, Highland Springs has a layout that fits

When it comes to apartment living, one size doesn t fit all. That s why Highland Springs, an Erickson Living community in North Dallas, offers 35 different floor plans. We recognize the need for options, says Sales Director Jennifer O Reilly. Each prospective resident who visits the sales office has priorities. It s our job to find the floor plan that matches those priorities.

Must-have patio

For Carol Richter, who moved to the community in June 2007, an apartment home with a patio was a must. I wanted space for my dog Maggie to play outside, says Carol. I also wanted the bedroom to function as a multipurpose room, so I was looking for generously-sized rooms. The Dover floor plan met Carol s criteria. The one-bedroom, one-bath apartment home features ample square footage in the bedroom, allowing Carol to fit not just her bedroom furniture, but also a desk for her computer and an easel for her painting supplies. It s a functional apartment, says Carol, a retired flight attendant for American Airlines. The size of the Dover allows me to have everything I need. And I have a patio with a view of the pond. It suits me very well.

Livable space

Thane and Annette Deal first heard of Highland Springs when one of their neighbors moved to the community. We were living in a three-bedroom, two-bath home with a den in Richardson, says Thane. There was a lot of space we weren t using. The couple was looking for a two-bedroom apartment because they wanted to use the second bedroom as a den. I like to keep the living room for conversation, says Annette. Our television and computer are set up in the second bedroom, out of sight when you enter the apartment. Thane and Annette chose the Fairmont floor plan, a two-bedroom, one-bath apartment home with a large foyer and ample closet space. The space we have here is very close to the [amount of] space we were actually using in the old house, says Thane, a retired Marine. We really didn t give up anything.

On-site amenities

Len Steglich s busy schedule doesn t leave him much time to keep house. When he moved to Highland Springs from Frisco in May 2008, downsizing was at the top of his list. I work in my son s dental office twice a week and go to my grandchildren s ballet recitals and sports games, says Len. I m busy, so I don t need a lot of space to maintain. Len opted for a one-bedroom, one-bath Brighton-style floor plan on the fourth floor of Gardenview Court with a view of the lake. I have all the room I need, says Len. So much of the community acts as an extension of my apartment. I play horseshoes and work out in the fitness center. It s nice to have those amenities just a short walk away.
