You think if you live in a condo, they re going to do everything for you well, they don t, Michigan retiree Lucille McDonald says. It s difficult to find good people to do the things you need done. That is why Lucille decided to move to Fox Run, an Erickson Living community in Novi, Mich., where worrying about repairs or exerting herself to do routine maintenance are things of the past. For about a decade before she made the move, Lucille had been living in a condo in Northville, Mich. I thought, Enough already, I m ready to make the move, Lucille recalls of her decision to move to Fox Run last July.

Team at her disposal

As a prospective Fox Run resident, Lucille was able to take advantage of Erickson Realty and Moving Services, a free program through which new community members can access a suite of services from real estate agent referrals and moving company recommendations to help with floor planning and interior decorating. Fox Run Personal Moving Consultant Mary Wolfe was able to draw on her many years of industry experience to connect Lucille with all of the professionals she d need to sell her condo, pack up her household, sell items she no longer needed, and get settled in her new home. After introducing my preferred professionals for Lucille to consider, she selected the final members of her team, Wolfe says. At the end of it all, she was reimbursed for $2,000 of her moving expenses through our Move On Us program. By working with a trusted real estate agent who has helped many Fox Run residents sell properties, Lucille was able to sell her condo in just two days, which enabled her to start enjoying her stress-free retirement sooner. Lucille chose a Kingston-style apartment home, which has two bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a balcony where Lucille tends to her outdoor plants. Lucille has an interest in interior design, so she worked with Fox Run s custom interiors department to put her personal stamp on her new home. She says she chose a number of custom upgrades like wood laminate floors and Corian counters and sinks for the kitchen and bathrooms. I ve done a lot of things to it and it looks really nice, Lucille says.
