New Jersey couple discover life at Ann’s Choice

Created date

April 23rd, 2013

Last May, Debby and Les Bergen visited Ann s Choice, Erickson Living s community in Bucks County, out of simple curiosity. The residents of South Plainfield, N.J., were already on the priority list at Erickson Living s Seabrook community near their home. Joining the list had given them the right of first refusal on an available apartment home based on their priority list date. The date never changes and can be transferred to any of Erickson Living s 16 communities. Because of its size three neighborhoods, 2,000 residents, and 155 clubs and activities, the Bergens liked Ann s Choice immediately. And in September, when they toured what is now their Fallston apartment home, the view of a gorgeous sunset framed by the home s floor-to-ceiling bay window made Les feel at home. Debby liked the kitchen because the large cutout on the sink wall opened the room to the rest of the home. I could talk with anyone in the great room, she says. The icing on the cake was a washer and dryer, standard equipment in every Ann s Choice apartment home. Debby would no longer lug laundry to and from the basement. So with help from Colleen Rosica, the personal moving consultant at Ann s Choice, they downsized and moved this January. Colleen s services, which are complimentary to priority list members, include valuable referrals to Erickson Living s trusted real estate and moving professionals. The Bergens used both an approved real estate agent and moving company. And by using these resources, they were eligible for a $2,000 refund on their moving expenses through the Move On Us program.

Personalizing for their preferences

Happy that their second bedroom would accommodate their big roll-top desk, the Bergens converted it to a shared office/computer room. They turned to the Ann s Choice custom interiors and general services departments to help them personalize their home through the installation of an adjustable-height showerhead and textured green kitchen counters. They love their new address. And their children, four of whom live less than 90 minutes away in New Jersey, agree. One of our daughters had [grown up] in the house we sold, Debby says. At first, she was worried. But when that daughter came to visit and experienced her parents lovely home, the beautiful d cor and grounds at Ann s Choice, the bustle of resident activity, and Signature Restaurant s extensive and delicious brunch choices, her worries changed to delight. And that, of course, delighted her parents.
