Residents of Cedar Crest, the Erickson Living community in Pompton Plains, N.J., displayed their own artwork at the community's annual Art Expo in July. A variety of mediums represented the multitude of talents on display, including charcoal prints, watercolors, photography, decorative painting, and monotypes. "This is always a very popular event at Cedar Crest," says Community Resources Coordinator Kelli Bollen, who helps plan the event.

Artistic environment

"We have so many talented artists here, whether they ve been doing it their whole lives or just started taking a class since moving here," Bollen says. Cedar Crest is a place where people finally have the time and resources to learn new things, like painting, photography, or drawing.
