Stacie Shelman, Tallgrass Creek s new director of health care sales, is a familiar and welcome face to many residents. Shelman, who spent the last year as director of health care sales for Erickson Living s Highland Springs continuing care neighborhood in Dallas, Tex., was part of the original, independent living sales team at Tallgrass Creek. She joined Erickson Living in 2006 when Tallgrass Creek was under construction. We worked out of the welcome center in the field where Tallgrass Creek now stands, says Shelman. I was fortunate to be here at the beginning and now back, as Tallgrass Creek fulfills its promise to bring continuing care to our residents. Shelman also served a dual role as the sales manager for the Erickson Advantage health plan at both Tallgrass Creek and Eagle s Trace, another Erickson Living community in Houston, Tex. Prior to her career at Erickson Living, Shelman spent 17 years in the health care field. She holds a bachelor s degree in exercise science and business from the University of Nebraska and a master s in public health from Wichita State University. Shelman and husband Curt, an executive for Paceline Products in Pleasant Valley, Mo., maintained their home in the Kansas City area while she was in Dallas. An avid horsewoman, Shelman also rejoins her beloved horse Twister for her favorite pastime, riding. I m so excited to be back, says Shelman. It s a wonderful opportunity to share my experiences and bring best practices to our continuing care neighborhood. I am especially looking forward to reconnecting with all the Tallgrass Creek residents, some whom I have now known for years.
