As we continue to watch the real estate market thermometer inch its way back toward center, developers continue to make more enticing incentives and improvements to their properties. One local example Seabrook, an Erickson Living community in Tinton Falls, N.J. has been listening intently to its customers' feedback and responding.

New floor plans

"We are adding new floor plans to satisfy our customers requests for more variety and more apartments with two bedrooms and one and a half bathrooms," says Sales Counselor Susan Coulson. Seabrook recently added the deluxe Fairmont a two-bedroom, one-and-a-half-bath apartment home, and the deluxe Harrison, a two-bedroom, one-and-a-half-bath corner apartment home with six windows. "We had requests for the addition of a powder room to our two-bedroom, one-bath styles, so we are meeting those needs," Coulson says. "We are so excited about these new apartment styles. They are just beautiful, and some have additional square footage as well." In addition to the deluxe Fairmont and Harrison, Coulson says they have created even larger floor plans by combining two apartments. As yet unnamed, the new 1,500-square-foot homes feature two bedrooms, two baths, a den, a kitchen that opens to a spacious living-dining area, generously sized closets, and a full laundry. "The open floor plan provides lots of light throughout the entire apartment," Coulson says. "These combo apartments are truly spectacular."

Standard upgrades

The modern upgrades that come standard with each new home make them even more spectacular. "Every apartment home that is being reoccupied by new residents is receiving a complete renovation," Coulson says. "Not only are we replacing carpet, repainting, and replacing appliances, we're giving the whole apartment a facelift." Features include recessed kitchen lighting, modern light fixtures throughout, a ceramic flat-top stove, jeweled coral or quartz kitchen countertops, window treatments (choice of blinds or shutters), crown molding, and custom paint, among other options. Interior design consultant Fiolek Designs helps new residents customize their home even further by offering a selection of granite countertops, hardwood or tile floors, wainscoting, cabinet finishes, window treatments, wall paper, and paint options. "Our goal is to offer a variety of stunning apartment homes and finishes so our residents can not only feel comfortable in their new home but proud of it," says Coulson.
