Over the last several years, Mary Wolfe has helped 960 adults secure a worry-free retirement by providing assistance during their moves to Fox Run. This year marks Wolfe s sixth anniversary of working as the personal moving consultant at the Erickson Living community in Novi, Mich. Thanks to her hard work and her knowledge of the local real estate market, Wolfe has made herself a trusted and invaluable resource to Michigan retirees. Mary s experience and vision about the real estate market has helped Fox Run become nearly sold out, Sales Director Fred Moschetta says of his colleague. She knows how long a home will take to sell. This great ability has enabled many people to start living at Fox Run sooner than they ever thought. She is a true visionary and brings additional services to Erickson Realty and Moving Services.

Skills and resources to sell houses

In total, Wolfe has had a hand in selling more than 600 homes for people who were ready to trade cleaning, cooking, yard work, and snow shoveling for maintenance-free living and nightly dinners with friends at Fox Run s on-site restaurants. Because she has a keen understanding of local real estate market dynamics and a vast network of professionals she can tap into, Wolfe is able to get houses sold quickly and for a competitive price. Years ago, when some houses were sitting on the market for a year or more, people moving to Fox Run were selling many in 30 to 60 days, Wolfe says. Currently, Fox Run residents are seeing a week or less on the market with multiple offers, as well as many cash sales. Earlier this year, Milt and Rochelle Goldman decided to put their West Bloomfield condo on the market. Wolfe connected the Goldmans with a savvy and experienced real estate agent who helped the couple sell their condo in just three days. Mary [Wolfe] definitely helped us a lot, Rochelle says.

Moving made easy

The assistance Wolfe provides isn t limited to real estate agent referrals. She meets with future Fox Run residents to map out their floor plan. She helps them decide which pieces of their existing furniture will look best in their new Fox Run apartment home and how they should be arranged in the floor plan. For household items they no longer want, Mary can help residents organize estate sales or find places to donate furniture and other items. Wolfe makes herself available to residents right on through their moving day. She works with trusted packing and moving professionals with whom she can connect residents to make sure every move to Fox Run goes smoothly. Last year, Ralph and Margaret Spigarelli sold their Novi house to move to Fox Run. Ralph says a process that could have been stressful was made easy with Wolfe s expert assistance. Before meeting with Mary [Wolfe], I was looking on the Internet for moving companies and all the steps to go through, like turning off your mail and trying to conduct your own garage sale it will drive you bonkers, Ralph says. But Mary gave us people who were reliable and experienced. Wolfe takes great pride in her work. Year after year, it continues to provide her gratification on both a professional and personal level. It is very rewarding to hear people say they feel much better after my visit. Many seem surprised when learning about all of the resources available to them, Wolfe says. I also love seeing people after they move to Fox Run. It is wonderful to see big smiles and hear about all the fun they are experiencing. With six years under her belt as Fox Run s personal moving consultant, Wolfe has developed an even deeper level of expertise. She says she looks forward to continuing to help Michigan retirees move to Fox Run, and she encourages people who are interested in living at the community to take the first step toward moving there. Recently, Fox Run has been working from a wait list, as there is little available inventory, Wolfe says. This has made it more important than ever for individuals considering a move to Fox Run to join the priority list and have a move plan outlined. My real estate and moving and planning services are available at no charge to people on the priority list.
