Peggy and Al Nescio joined the Choice priority list more than two years before they moved from their split-level house of 55 years in Southampton, Pa., to EricksonLiving’s retirement community in Bucks County.

They had no timeframe in mind. But Peggy knew that joining the list would save their place in line for the home they desired based on the date they joined.

Attending realty and moving services expos and exclusive priority list events reinforced Peggy’s desire to move. Each event provided more information about the campus amenities and conveniences and featured delicious cuisine that residents enjoy every day.

The expos educated them about listing their house and planning their move. They listened to downsizing presentations by Personal Moving Consultant Colleen Rosica, who provides complimentary realty and moving expertise to priority list members. And they talked with professionals from Rosica’s network of preferred vendors. One event included a shredding truck for disposing of old documents.

Trusted recommendations

The Nescios also sought advice from friends who lived at Ann’s Choice. “Everything we did related to our move was because our friends recommended it,” Peggy says.

Their real estate agent and their mover were not only preferred vendors, but they also came friend-recommended.

Last year when the Nescios decided to move, they scheduled a home visit from Rosica. “She told us to take down our hundreds of photos and to move some furniture items,” says Al. “Because we’d attended the expos and a program on downsizing, we also knew what else to do.”

Road map to home

Rosica made return visits as the Nescios’ move progressed. When they reserved a beautiful two-bedroom, two-bath Fallston-style apartment home, she came and measured their furniture to guarantee everything would fit perfectly. “She mapped every room,” says Peggy.

On moving day, their mover unpacked and put away their goods.

Unmatched peace of mind

Al has had some medical issues the past few years, so living at Ann’s Choice has brought the couple peace of mind.

“We know that, should any emergency occur, Ann’s Choice first responders are only a phone call away,” Peggy says. “It’s marvelous being here.”

The high point for Peggy is not having to cook every day. Al’s thoughts are on spring. He’s eager to plant seedless tomatoes in his resident garden space.

3 steps

If your New Year’s resolutions include moving to Ann’s Choice later this year, Personal Moving Consultant Colleen Rosica recommends doing these things now:

1. Join the community’s priority list so you’ll be notified when your desired home becomes available.

2. Schedule a complimentary home visit with Rosica to develop a plan for moving forward on your goal.

3. Start using Rosica’s resources to begin downsizing, disposing of unwanted items, and staging your house. Ann’s Choice is currently 98% sold out. You want to be ready to move as soon as your perfect apartment home becomes available.
