Artists abound

Riderwood art exhibit showcases talent at Silver Spring community

Peggy Zee worked as an artist for more than 20 years. She earned a degree in art from the University of Arkansas and focused on printmaking. From there, Peggy went to the Chicago Teacher’s College, where she found her way into silk screening. 

Over the years, Peggy delved into a variety of other art forms as well. She sculpts, knits, makes handmade paper, and she has recently started creating unique works of art out of found objects. She showed her work at Georgetown’s Spectrum Gallery in Washington, D.C., and also taught classes and ran framing and art supply businesses.

“You have to do it all if art is your career,” Peggy says.
