More than 60% of adults over the age of 50 are currently active on at least one social networking site.  These sites are a great way to engage with the community, share ideas, and stay up-to-date on current events.  Erickson Living, which builds and manages continuing care retirement communities, has jumped on this trend in a big way.

Wherever you live, this is the best way to stay connected to what’s going on at Erickson Living’s 18 communities. The Erickson Living Facebook page offers followers daily updates, including fun facts, photos, resident stories, and community news. Facebook acts as an interactive forum for residents, family members, and friends to communicate about the Erickson Living lifestyle. The Facebook page is also a good place to check out new TV spots, behind-the-scenes photos, and contests with chances to win prizes!

Follow Erickson Living on Twitter. The Twitter feed is updated several times a day with short news stories pertinent to Erickson Living’s communities. Twitter is also the best way to connect with Erickson Living’s public affairs team. If you’re looking for more detailed news and information, timely and interesting blogs can be accessed straight from Erickson Living’s website (ericksonliving.com). 

Erickson Living is also on Pinterest (pinterest.com/ericksonliving). For those who are unfamiliar with this site, Pinterest is best described as an online bulletin board that users can save and share ideas on.  People pin fun things that range from crafts and recipes to workout tips and fashion.  You can log into Pinterest straight from your Facebook account and begin following Erickson Living immediately.

Check out Erickson Living’s YouTube channel to view current television spots (youtube.com...).  The YouTube page houses several short videos.  One video is a humorous look at what happens when Santa Claus retires at an Erickson Living community. Another video features resident grandchildren describing what their life would be like at an Erickson Living community.

Do you already live at an Erickson Living community? Erickson Living is looking for residents to represent their communities online. Becoming a social media ambassador is a great way to connect with future neighbors, meet new friends, and interact with residents from across the country. Ambassadors share their photos and comments from community events, as well as remain engaged in social media by “liking” and commenting on other posts. Each month, they receive an exclusive newsletter containing suggestions for posts and information about hot trends and emerging technology. Want to learn more?
