Ponds is pleased to announce the grand opening of Willow Crossing, the seventh residence building on the community’s 132-acre campus. Not only does the new addition provide housing for more than 150 new residents, it boasts never-before-seen apartment floor plans, a new restaurant, community spaces, and a fitness room.

“Demand for the Erickson Living lifestyle in Loudoun County is at an all-time high,” says Executive Director David Gallagher. “The opening of Willow Crossing is the first step in meeting that demand. We are thrilled to welcome our new residents to our vibrant community.”

Welcoming committee

Gallagher isn’t the only one eager to welcome Ashby Ponds’ newest community members. The more than 700 people already living on campus look forward to expanding their network of peers.

“I’m excited to meet my new neighbors,” says community member Polly Liss. “My apartment home is located in Meadowlark Terrace, very near Willow Crossing, so I’m sure I will see our new neighbors right away.”

All Ashby Ponds community members will benefit from the new offerings at Willow Crossing.

“I’m looking forward to dining in the new restaurant and enjoying the new community space for family get-togethers,” says Polly.

The new community restaurant offers both cooked-to-order selections prepared from a fixed seasonal menu and a variety of chef specials. Guests may choose to dine inside the restaurant, on the patio, or in the bar/lounge area. Private dining rooms are also available for larger group dining events.

The new community spaces at Willow Crossing provide additional rooms for group activities and include a small theater. A fitness room complements the existing larger fitness center in the Cardinal Clubhouse.

“My wife Dottie and I are excited for the new opportunities at Willow Crossing, especially the new community space and restaurant,” says John Kraft, one of Ashby Ponds’ first residents. “We also look forward to meeting our new neighbors and inviting them to join our community’s many clubs and activities.”

Something for everyone

With more than 100 resident-run clubs and groups, there’s something for all the new neighbors at Willow Crossing to enjoy.

“There is so much here at Ashby Ponds, it’s easy to find stimulation, information, companionship, and new friends,” says Polly. “And if you don’t find what interests you the most, you can start a new group for that purpose. I’ve found that living at Ashby Ponds has made my life more convenient and enjoyable.”

Community member Kay O’Brien found these activities to be the key to her happiness when she moved to Ashby Ponds from Florida.

“I knew no one when I first moved,” she says. “My advice to my new neighbors is to get involved. Join whatever activities interest you. Everyone is always happy to have new people join their groups. I could not be happier with the friends I have made and the great many things there are to do. At Ashby Ponds your days will be very full.”
