When John Toutkaldjian and his wife moved to Grove seven years ago, they did so in part because of its lush and beautiful campus. Ever since, John has recorded that beauty in photos.

Now he’s sharing them in Maris Grove: Picture This, a book of photographs that capture the changing light and changing seasons at EricksonLiving’s community in Delaware County, Pa.

John’s long-time interest in photography has become a serious and absorbing hobby.

Nearly every morning, often at daybreak, he takes a one-mile campus walk. “I continually see things that make me stop and look and enjoy and marvel,” he says. “I’m struck by the beauty and the interaction of the landscape with the architecture.”

Because photography is a solo and personal enterprise, John’s photos depict his vision of what he sees as he explores Maris Grove’s meticulously maintained 87 acres.

“But what good are they if only I see them?” he says. “I want others to see and enjoy them as I do.”

For a good cause

His book also lets him give back to the community he loves.

All the proceeds from its sales will benefit Maris Grove’s resident care fund. As a not-for-profit community, Maris Grove is dedicated to supporting residents who experience an unforeseen change in their financial situation for reasons beyond their control. The Residence and Care Agreement has all the details.

Books of photographs usually carry hefty price tags. But Maris Grove: Picture This is available at Maris Grove for $25.
