Before Ann’s Choice was even built, its sales counselor, Marie Dmoch, met and answered questions from scores of people interested in learning about Erickson Living’s retirement community in Bucks County, Pa.

Now she schedules 1,000-plus appointments a year, and people always ask about the community’s priority list. Here are Dmoch’s responses to their most frequent questions.

What is the Ann’s Choice priority list?

Dmoch: It’s a risk-free first step to moving here. Joining the list puts you in line to reserve an apartment home when you’re ready to move and when we have what you want available.

The date you join is your priority list date. It never changes, and it applies at any Erickson Living community.

Ann’s Choice is 98% sold out; it’s been more than 95% occupied since we opened in 2003. Being on the list can shorten your wait for an apartment because the earlier you join, the higher you are on the list and the better your chances of getting the home you want.

How is it risk-free?

Dmoch: The $1,000 per-person deposit is completely refundable should you change your mind or is applied to your entrance fee when you move to Ann’s Choice.

It’s the best investment you can make in your future. If you put the $1,000 in a money market account, you might earn .1% interest. If you put it in a mutual fund, you might even lose money.

And neither of those investments secure your place in line for a home at Ann’s Choice.

Remember last winter when the snow and cold went on forever? And this winter when Buffalo was buried under six feet of snow? Joining the list can help reduce the number of future winters you spend in your house.

Are there other benefits to joining?

Dmoch: Yes. The services of Colleen Rosica, our personal moving consultant, are complimentary to priority list members.

For example, she makes home visits to help members decide which furnishings to bring to Ann’s Choice, and she stays in touch through every step of their move.

She also provides referrals to real estate and moving vendors whom we trust and whom other residents have used and approved. Houses sell all year-round, and Colleen’s preferred agents have stellar track records doing that.

Members also receive invitations to exclusive priority list events. Some feature downsizing advice; others highlight presentations from real estate agents, antiques appraisers, and other moving experts; all feature delicious cuisine prepared by Ann’s Choice’s professional chefs.

Besides learning something at each event, members become more comfortable with the campus. They also meet and form friendships with their future neighbors.

Each member has gained those benefits by simply joining the list. If you haven’t already joined, now is the time.

Come see me. We’ll chat, and I’ll take you on a tour of what your life would be like if you lived at Ann’s Choice.
