Most of us are pretty happy if we receive a box of chocolates for Valentine’s Day. But the people living at Fox Run got to indulge in an entire chocolate-centered meal, complete with a dazzling dessert buffet.

Fox Run Director of Dining Services Kevin Cunningham, who admits to being a chocolate lover, organized the special meal in honor of Valentine’s Day. The “History of Chocolate” event has become a much-anticipated annual tradition at Fox Run, the Erickson Living community in Novi, Mich.

Cunningham’s team assisted him by gathering chocolate recipes from around the world as well as tidbits about the history of chocolate.

All things chocolate

Residents dined on an entrée of sliced beef tenderloin rubbed with organic cocoa nib, cinnamon, and spices, and served with a chocolate-infused red wine sauce.

After dinner, they mixed and mingled over an elaborate dessert buffet, including white chocolate cheesecake, chocolate-dipped strawberries, chocolate bread pudding, hot chocolate, peanut butter cups, truffles, chocolate mousse, chocolate macaroons, chocolate-dipped cherries in vodka, and chocolate wine.
