Paul and Carole Thau chose the Garfield, one of many floor plans available at Hill. The Garfield features two bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a balcony off the living area.

Upon entering the Garfield, one is greeted by distinct wood flooring, which extends throughout the foyer, kitchen, and dining and living area. A coat closet and laundry room are off to the side.

A breakfast bar with pendant lighting above and built-in sink separates the kitchen from the living and dining room, creating one great room perfect for entertaining or just watching your favorite show.

“This open design is what people have been asking for,” says Patricia Swan, executive director of Lantern Hill. “Almost all new homes are evolving to this bright, open style. It fills the home with light and makes it feel larger overall.”

Bedrooms flank the living area to the left and right, each with their own full bathroom. The master bedroom has a large walk-in closet, and the bath features a stand-up shower and dual vanity. The second bedroom features a tub and single vanity, perfect for guests.

“The Garfield is a great apartment for someone who has family out of town or likes to have grandkids spend the night,” says Sales Director Kathy Banks.

Its den, tucked conveniently off the living room, makes a cozy office or studio. “An artist might use the den as her studio, or someone who plans to keep working or volunteers might use it as an office,” Banks says. “It’s a great, light-filled space with a large window.”

Finer features

Aside from the open design, all floor plans at Lantern Hill feature several upgraded fixtures that give the homes a polished feel.

Standard features include granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, recessed lighting in the kitchen, wood cabinetry, wood flooring throughout the main living area and kitchen, and ceramic tile in the bathrooms. Crown molding gives the main living area a classic look, and large windows flood the homes with light.

Priority list members who reserve a home at Lantern Hill may choose from five color palettes that include the granite, wood cabinetry, wood flooring, bedroom and den carpet, and ceramic tile.

Home, sweet home

“The best part about choosing an apartment home at Lantern Hill,” says Banks, “is that you have several color palettes available as well as the range of design features that will make your new home beautiful and inviting.”
