“I want to make sure that everyone who wants to sell their house and move to Greenspring can do so easily and with as little stress as possible,” says Greves, whose background includes being a real estate agent herself for more than 20 years. She brings this previous knowledge to the table every time she meets with prospective residents. 

Recently, Greves talked with the Tribune about the most frequently asked questions she receives from people who are interested in living at Greenspring. Her answers provide insight into the powerful partnership between herself and the many people she has helped move to Greenspring. 

Tribune: The term “personal moving consultant” may be unfamiliar. Could you explain how you help people move to Greenspring? 

Greves: As a personal moving consultant, it is my number-one priority to make the move from an individual’s current house to Greenspring as stress-free and seamless as possible. To do that, I first meet with people in their current homes to discuss their expectations and to create a comprehensive selling and moving plan based on their individual needs. 

During our meeting, I provide information on the wide variety of resources available through Erickson Realty and Moving Services, including real estate agents, downsizing experts, clean-out services, packers, and movers. Everyone I refer is screened and has worked with Greenspring before. They have been handpicked because of the quality of services they provide. 

Whether people need a place to donate belongings during the downsizing process or they are concerned about how their treasured furniture will fit in their new home, I can help. 

They will also receive the best real estate market advice from our preferred real estate agents, all of whom come highly recommended and are top sellers in the area. 

The most important thing people need to know is that I will be with them every step of the moving process. I make it my number-one job to keep everyone up to date and stress-free. 

Tribune: If someone is interested in working with you, what do they need to do?

Greves: Working with a personal moving consultant is a key benefit of joining the priority list. So joining is the first step. 

As members of the priority list, they also will not only reserve their place in line for a future home at Greenspring, but they will receive invitations to special members-only events. I am present at many of these events to answer questions and provide greater detail regarding the services I provide.

Once a priority list member begins the move-in process, they may request my services. I will immediately schedule a time to visit with them in their home.

Tribune: Is now a good time to sell a house?  

Greves: I tell people that the benefits of moving now are numerous. The current real estate market boasts low inventory coupled with low interest rates. That means there are qualified buyers looking for homes to buy. This is especially true in the spring and summer months as families with children look to relocate prior to the beginning of the school year. 

However, with an expert on your side, it is always a good time to sell your house in Northern Virginia. I’ve found great success helping people sell their homes and move to Greenspring at all times of the year.

Tribune: Does Erickson Realty and Moving Services provide support to priority list members prior to the moving process? 

Greves: Yes! Definitely. We schedule a number of seminars on a number of topics related to moving. This June, we will begin a three-part “Simplify Your Life” series, open to all priority list members. The first part addresses downsizing, followed by presentations on selling your home and choosing the right apartment home.

We also offer fun opportunities, including our annual home show in the spring and holiday luncheon in December.
