When Paul and Mary Kliauga moved to Seabrook, the Erickson Living community in Tinton Falls, N.J., Mary’s sister Theresa Park wasn’t far behind them. Though she was more than 1,600 miles away in Waco, Tex., she moved just under a year after Paul and Mary in April 2014.

Prior to moving, with such distance between Theresa and her new home, she utilized Erickson Realty and Moving Services to choose and reserve her apartment without trekking across the country. Instead, she visited Highland Springs, the Erickson Living community in Dallas.

Theresa worked with Personal Moving Consultant Laurie Williamson and Erickson Living’s network of preferred real estate agents to list her single family house.

“The agent was very kind and efficient,” Theresa says. Her house sold in just ten days, and she says the process was easier than expected.

Professional and reliable

“No matter where you’re moving from, Erickson Realty and Moving Services has a network of professionals committed to facilitating your move,” Williamson says. She worked with her counterpart, Gail Wrzesinski, at Highland Springs to coordinate the long-distance move for Theresa.

“I moved to be close to my sister,” Theresa says, and that she is. The sales team at Seabrook helped her find an apartment home in the same building as Mary and Paul, and the threesome has been able to spend ample time together since Theresa settled in.

Theresa chose a one-bedroom apartment home, which she says is far more convenient and cost-effective than a single family home.

“With a house, you have to care for the yard, the swimming pool, trim the trees, mow the grass. Maintenance can be very expensive,” Theresa says.

At Seabrook, she uses the swimming pool frequently without giving a second thought to its maintenance. She also frequents the fitness center and walks the grounds.

Aside from fitness-related activities, Theresa has most enjoyed socializing and traveling to New York City on community-sponsored trips. Since she left her church community behind in Waco, Theresa was happy to discover an active Catholic group at Seabrook.

So while she moved to be closer to her sister, Theresa has found greater independence as well.
