Erickson Living is welcoming a new member to its family of communities. Located in North Carolina, the Windsor Run campus will occupy some 60 acres of a 105-acre tract in Matthews, part of Mecklenburg County.

Right outside of Charlotte, the community is now in the first phase of development, which includes planning for the construction of one- and two-bedroom independent living apartment homes and a community clubhouse. Scheduled to open in 2017, Windsor Run will offer a variety of spacious floor plans to suit individual tastes and needs, as well as on-site dining services and fitness opportunities.

In addition to the numerous amenities, Windsor Run will also incorporate integrated health care and wellness programs for its residents.

“Consumer choice, quality of care, and meeting the lifestyle expectations of today’s and tomorrow’s seniors are the cornerstone of our planning for Windsor Run,” says Tom Senger, director of sales for Windsor Run.

And to be sure, the demand is booming in and around Charlotte for the maintenance-free lifestyle that Erickson Living provides retirees.

“We’re proud to be building our first community in North Carolina,” says Alan Butler, CEO of Erickson Living. “Windsor Run will meet the needs of seniors in this area for active retirement living and expand Erickson Living’s portfolio to 19 campuses in 11 states.”

According to U.S. Census data for 2014, Charlotte’s population has grown by 40% since 2000. Furthermore, the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Council on Aging found that in the next 20 years Mecklenburg County will see an astounding 260% increase in its population of adults 60 and older.

“The Charlotte area is seeing an increase in demand for more senior housing options and we are looking forward to meeting that demand with Windsor Run,” says Will Nance, vice president of regional sales.

Adds Matthews Mayor Jim Taylor, "I'm looking forward to our partnership with Windsor Run. Erickson Living is a great company, and Windsor Run is going to be a wonderful development within the community."

The Windsor Run sales center is being built now and is set to open later this year at 2010 McKee Road in Matthews, N.C. You can also call 1-800-515-0886 or visit WindsorRunCommunity.com for more information.
