Delaware couple attracted to Maris Grove’s creative environment

For 40 years, Peggy Grier, a Wilmington, Del., native, set aside her paints, her brushes, and her life-long passion for art while she raised a family, taught home economics, and later worked at Astra Zeneca.

When she retired, Peggy moved to Chadds Ford, Pa. She also returned to painting and discovered that her skills had never left her. 

“It all came back,” she says, “the ability to draw and see. A lot of art is the ability to see.”

Peggy gained even more time to paint three years ago when, on their anniversary, she and her husband Joe moved to Erickson Living’s continuing care retirement community in Delaware County, Pa.
