Kansas City Royals Rally

Along with Kansas City Royals fans everywhere, Tallgrass Creek neighbors celebrated the Royals 2015 World Series victory over the New York Mets. Soon after the happy event, fans dressed in royal blue rallied on Tallgrass Creek’s front lawn and waved flags, ate hot dogs, and toasted the hometown baseball team while a local television station covered the cheering crowd. (From left) Residents Lois Ellis, Chuck Saunders, Karen Cox, Carlene Martin, and Rita Thomson enjoyed the event.

Many residents stayed up into the wee hours of the previous mornings watching the Royals chip away at the Mets one game at a time until the “boys in blue” emerged victorious in Mets territory—Citi Field, in New York City. Some Tallgrass Creek residents were even among the 800,000 attendees at a sea-of-blue victory parade and rally held two days after the exciting win in downtown Kansas City, Mo. To say Royals fans, including those at Tallgrass Creek, are over the moon about the win would be an understatement.
