One of the biggest benefits of Erickson Realty and Moving Services is the one-on-one service and attention of the personal moving consultant. For more than nine years, June Parish, the personal moving consultant at Windsor Run, an Erickson Living community coming to Matthews, N.C., has worked as a resale listing agent and sales counselor. She brings a wealth of knowledge to the table every time she meets with prospective residents.

“I enjoy the opportunity to work with families as they look forward to new beginnings,” she says. “Whether it is sharing resources, helping to overcome obstacles, or providing the emotional support that comes with making life changes, I am there every step of the way.”

Parish talked with the Tribune about the most frequently asked questions she receives from people who are interested in living at Windsor Run. Her answers provide insight into the powerful partnership between her and the many people she is helping plan a future move to Windsor Run.

Tribune: The term personal moving consultant is unfamiliar. How do you help people make a future move to Windsor Run?

Parish: As personal moving consultant, it is my number one priority to make the move from an individual’s current house to Windsor Run as stress-free and seamless as possible. To do that, I first meet with people in their current homes to discuss their expectations and to create a comprehensive selling and moving plan based on their individual needs.

During our meeting, I provide information on the wide variety of resources available through Erickson Realty and Moving Services, including real estate agents, downsizing experts, cleanout services, packers, and movers. Everyone I refer is screened and has been handpicked because of the quality of services they provide. Whether people need a place to donate belongings during the downsizing process or are concerned about how their treasured furniture will fit in their new home, I can help.

Anyone who needs help selling their home will receive the best real estate market advice available from our preferred real estate agents, all of whom come highly recommended and are top sellers in the area.

Tribune: If someone is interested in working with you, what do they need to do?

Parish: Working with a personal moving consultant is a key benefit of joining the priority list. So joining is the first step.

As members of the priority list, they will not only reserve their place in line for a future home at Windsor Run, but they will also receive invitations to special members-only events and be the first to hear news about community updates.

These events allow us to provide support to our priority list members prior to the moving process. They are an opportunity to learn about the progress of our construction, meet new neighbors, and discover the many clubs and activities that will be available at Windsor Run.

Over the next few months, our priority list members will be invited to attend a seminar called “The Value of Staging Your Home” as well as a local estate sales auctioneer event. Participants will be encouraged to bring an item they would like valued, similar to what you see on Antiques Roadshow.

I encourage guests at these events to seek me out so that I can answer questions and provide greater detail regarding the services I provide.

Tribune: How affordable will it be to move to Windsor Run?

Parish: Time and time again, I hear from current residents at Erickson Living communities across the country that it is more economical than they imagined. In fact, many end up spending less per month than they did in their houses.

When you account for home maintenance, repairs and upkeep, landscaping, HOA fees, and ever-changing utility costs, those all add up. People who live at Windsor Run will have a stable monthly fee that includes all these things plus extras like our flexible dining plan, 24-hour fitness center, indoor junior Olympic-size pool, and access to the on-site medical center with same-day appointments.
