Visitors enjoy Tallgrass Creek hospitality

On a cold, snowy day earlier this year, about 50 visitors to Tallgrass Creek, an Erickson Living community in Overland Park, Kans., enjoyed a warm welcome from the community’s sales team and residents. The visitors were invited to tour residences, meet Tallgrass Creek neighbors, and enjoy a gourmet lunch prepared and served by the community’s dining staff. 

Sales Director Blake Marshall welcomed guests at the front door along with sales team members Sue LaBelle, Nancy Worthington, Elaine Bahr, and resident Karen Cox.  

“Several visitors commented on the inclement weather, and residents welcoming guests mentioned how nice it was to be experiencing it from inside Tallgrass Creek rather than from their former homes,” says Marshall. “They weren’t worrying about snow removal, slick sidewalks, and all the rest of it.”  

Lunch and learn 

After touring residences, guests gathered for a hearty lunch in the community’s spacious Blue Sky Restaurant. They enjoyed a choice of pan-seared salmon, spinach fettuccini, and roasted asparagus, or beef tenderloin medallions, whipped potatoes, and French green beans. A fresh, green salad and decadent, three-layer, chocolate-mousse cake rounded out the luncheon.

Guests also received information about Erickson Realty and Moving Services, which offers complimentary coordination of all realty and moving needs, including downsizing, home staging, packing, and selection of real estate professionals for people planning to move to Tallgrass Creek. 

Tallgrass Creek’s priority list was also a topic of conversation as it is the first step in the moving process. All it takes is a fully refundable $1,000 deposit and a $150-per-person, nonrefundable application fee. When prospective residents submit their deposit, that date is noted as their priority list date. Once their preferred floor plan becomes available, the sales team gives first right of refusal to priority list members based on their joining date.

Firsthand answers

The delicious luncheon event was only one of several social events Tallgrass Creek’s sales team hosts throughout the year. All include creative food, tours of spacious apartments, and opportunities to get to know the community. 

Residents, acting as ambassadors for the community, are always on hand to answer questions about what life at Tallgrass Creek is all about. 

“I’m delighted to tell others about Tallgrass Creek,” says Joyce Keeler, one of the community’s ambassadors and a frequent traveler. “It is turnkey living at its best. I was so tired of dealing with issues associated with a larger home, and everything here is just so easy and well done.”
