Warm weather draws people outside. Whether you find yourself digging in the garden, relaxing on the beach, or camping in the great outdoors, we’ve rounded up a few products to have on hand.

A portable masseuse

Summer sports leagues and ambitious garden projects have one thing in common—the tendency to leave your muscles sore the next day. Massage those minor aches and pains away with The Original Worm. Created by an avid sportswoman, The Original Worm acts like a foam roller. The difference is that while foam rollers don’t travel well, the Original Worm does.

Small enough to fit in a typical carry-on suitcase or backpack, the custom-designed neoprene case holds four solid rubber balls that target four pressure points at once. Roll it under tired feet or over aching shoulders for an instant massage.

It comes in two sizes and two colors and ranges in price between $24.99 and $34.99. Available online through Amazon or at

All-purpose solar light

Fans of the TV program Shark Tank may remember Anna Stork and Andrea Sreshta pitching their idea for a solar-powered, waterproof inflatable light to the show’s investors. The pitch was so successful, all five of the big shots “wanted in.”

Stork and Sreshta’s product, the LuminAID, is a great addition to any hike, boat trip, or outdoor adventure because you never know when you might need something to light your way. Uninflated, the LuminAID is about as big as a coaster and weighs less than four ounces. After charging in the sun for 7 to 10 hours, the LuminAID will give you up to 30 hours of light.

The LuminAID has indoor applications as well. When my mother-in-law came for a visit, she was worried about making her way to the bathroom at night. I put the LuminAID on its dimmest setting and left it on her nightstand. She had a portable lantern to light her way down the hall. With prices starting under $20, the LuminAID is a great gift. Sun protection

After losing her mother to melanoma skin cancer, the founder of Suntegrity Skincare embarked on a mission to create effective sun protection without toxic chemicals. The result is an organic, nontoxic line of SPF 30 sunscreen products.

An Allure magazine “Best of Beauty” award winner, the brand’s broad spectrum SPF 30 face sunscreen is enriched with antioxidants like red algae, organic aloe vera, cucumber, and green tea. They also have a moisturizing tinted SPF 30 face sunscreen and an SPF 30 body sunscreen available in both scented and unscented varieties. (The scent is light, fresh, and citrusy.)

In addition, Suntegrity has the first SPF 30 mineral sunscreen lipstick. Available in eight shades, its rich, creamy color doesn’t bleed or feather into fine lines. Formulated with organic shea butter, cocoa butter, and jojoba oil, Lip CPR hydrates and protects.  Lipsticks are $28, face lotion is $45, and body sunscreen is $24. Available at select beauty retailers and spas and online at Amazon and
