Come visit Ann’s Choice’s beautiful campus and award-winning landscaping during late summer and see its active, engaged lifestyle for yourself.

When people consider retiring and moving to a smaller living place, some of them assume that a 55-plus community is the best choice to maintain their independence.

They don’t investigate continuing care retirement communities because they assume they’re nursing homes.

That couldn’t be further from the truth at Ann’s Choice, says Sales Counselor Marie Dmoch: “One visit will dispel the myth that this is a nursing home.”

Vibrant lifestyle

Erickson Living’s retirement community in Bucks County, Pa., does provide a full continuum of care on its gorgeous 103-acre campus: the continuing care neighborhood comprises in-patient rehabilitation, personal care, and skilled nursing services.

But the 2,000 residents in its three independent-living neighborhoods enjoy an active and engaged lifestyle.

“This is a vibrant community where you feel secure and involved, meet new friends, and oftentimes reunite with old friends that you didn’t know lived here,” Dmoch says. “And you live maintenance-free without the hassles and responsibilities of home ownership.”

At 55-plus communities, people still cope with interior maintenance, and amenities vary with the individual community. The central clubhouse at an active 55 community, which may or may not have a restaurant, might also not be close enough to walk to on rainy days or in icy weather.

Ann’s Choice offers three beautifully appointed clubhouses, five clubhouse restaurants, and 15 residence buildings. Residents can get to any of the buildings via climate-controlled hallways and glass-enclosed bridges, making the community seem like a small town under one roof.

Its on-site amenities include a wellness center, aquatics center, performing arts center, hair salons, bank and library branches, and a pharmacy-convenience store.

There’s even a full-service medical center staffed by full-time physicians who schedule only two appointments an hour and see only Ann’s Choice residents. Various specialists schedule regular appointments as well.
