For the first time in more than two years, Ashby Ponds announces the construction of a new residence building, Cherry Blossom Square.

With all apartment homes occupied and a growing priority list of almost 1,000 people, Ashby Ponds, an Erickson Living community in Ashburn, Va., recently announced the addition of its tenth residence building, Cherry Blossom Square, scheduled to open in summer 2017.

“We are thrilled to be able to meet the strong demand for the Ashby Ponds lifestyle with the 116 new apartment homes that will be available at Cherry Blossom Square,” says Ashby Ponds Executive Director Craig Karczmer. “In turn, our community members are eager to meet their new neighbors and welcome them to the Ashby Ponds family.”

Building on tradition

Each of the new Cherry Blossom Square apartment homes features amenities already popular at Ashby Ponds, including airy layouts and beautiful finishes; modernized kitchens with granite countertops and stainless-steel appliances; full-size, side-by-side washers and dryers; and walk-in closets. Convenient under-building parking is also available.

Great Oak Clubhouse and the Cardinal Clubhouse will be easily accessible from each apartment home via climate-controlled walkways.

Inside the clubhouses, community members will have access to an on-site medical center, fitness and aquatics center, performing arts theater, day spa, classrooms, computer lab, and art studio. Five restaurants located throughout the community offer a wide range of healthy, delicious meals.

“We listened carefully to what our current residents and priority list members enjoy most about apartment homes already on campus,” says Director of Sales Holly Henderson. “As a result, we are happy to announce that Cherry Blossom Square will offer our most popular floor plans, including the Wilson and Newbury.

The Wilson—a deluxe, two-bedroom, two-bath home with den and bay window—boasts a spacious living area perfect for relaxing and entertaining. The den can serve as a home office, TV room, or craft space.

The Walton features a sought-after bay window overlooking Ashby Ponds’ immaculately kept grounds and provides lots of natural light.

The popular Newbury—a deluxe one-bedroom, one-and-a-half-bath home with den and porch—provides a large,  open living area; an airy, private porch; and a half-bath.

Advice from the experts

Not since 2014 has Ashby Ponds announced the construction of a new residence building, Magnolia Place.

“Magnolia Place was completely occupied within weeks of opening,” says Henderson. “We anticipate the same for Cherry Blossom Square. Word of mouth is a powerful force. Our community members love living here, and they continue to spread the word among family and friends. Since announcing the building to the priority list, more than 60% of the new homes have been reserved.”

Priority list membership has many benefits, including reserving a place in line for a future home at Ashby Ponds. Members also receive first notice of new construction, an enormous benefit for a community located in the fastest-growing county in the country.

“I strongly encourage anyone considering a future at Ashby Ponds to join,” says Henderson. “It’s the best gift you can give yourself this holiday season.”

All it takes to join the priority list is a fully refundable $1,000 deposit and a $150-per-person nonrefundable application fee. When prospective residents submit their deposit, that date is noted as their priority list date. As apartment homes become available, the sales team gives first right of refusal to priority list members based on their joining date.

In addition to first notice on new construction, priority list members receive invitations to exclusive events and access to the wide range of services provided by Erickson Realty and Moving Services specialists.

Priority list members are also invited to schedule an overnight visit to the community to experience Ashby Ponds living first-hand.

“I signed up for the priority list years before I was ready to move,” says Sally Brown, who moved to Ashby Ponds in 2015. “I was impressed with all the amenities offered. As a member of the priority list, I was kept informed as the community developed and invited to numerous events.

“Years ago, I had to make the decision to move my parents from their home of 52 years, which was very difficult. I wanted my move to be my decision and not the responsibility of my children. Joining the priority list gave me the peace of mind to accomplish this goal.”

Welcome wagon

Sally, along with many of her neighbors, look forward to welcoming their new neighbors.

“Every new community member enriches all of us with his or her experiences and talents,” says George Menassa. “Ashby Ponds is an extremely warm and friendly place where we all try to make everyone feel welcome and valued.”

George’s neighbor Al Beyer agrees.

“My wife Marilynn and I moved to Ashby Ponds in September 2009, and it was one of the smartest things we’ve ever done,” he says. “Our life here is comfortable, fulfilling, and active. We lack for nothing and are secure knowing that friends, neighbors, a terrific staff, and medical care are all immediately available. My advice to anyone considering a future at Ashby Ponds is simple: Do it now. Don’t wait. There’s lots of help available to make moving as painless as possible. Before you know it, you’ll be enjoying all this wonderful community has to offer.”
