When Erickson Living launched Erickson Realty and Moving Services in 2008, the program aimed to provide future residents with a full array of resources and a personalized plan tailored specifically for their property sale and moving needs.

Toward that end, each Erickson Living community designates a personal moving consultant who provides a customized moving experience for future residents by creating a seamless transition to an Erickson Living community. Laurie Phillips serves in the role of personal moving consultant at Brooksby Village in Peabody, Mass.

Phillips offers complimentary coordination of moving resources for anyone moving to Brooksby Village. She maintains a vast network of professionals with experience in downsizing, staging, home repairs, packing, moving, and real estate. 

As an added benefit of Erickson Realty and Moving Services, the Move On Us program provides up to a $2,000 credit for designated moving expenses incurred during the move to Brooksby. 

The Tribune recently sat down with Phillips to talk about the Move On Us program and its value to future residents.

Q: Who qualifies for the Move On Us credit?

A: The Move On Us program is designed to assist those who have reserved an apartment home at Brooksby. They qualify for the credit when they sell their property through one of our preferred real estate agents.

Q: Who are preferred real estate agents? What are the benefits of using a preferred agent?

A: At Brooksby, we partner with real estate agents who have experience helping seniors move. Many of them have earned their Seniors Real Estate Specialist designation. They’re trusted professionals who have been successful in helping other residents sell their property and move to Brooksby.

Q: Do I have to use any other preferred vendors, such as a preferred moving company?

A: No, future residents qualify for the Move On Us credit when they use a preferred real estate agent.

Q: What moving expenses are covered with the Move On Us program?

A: The Move On Us program offers a moving services credit for expenses incurred during the move. This includes downsizing and packing at a resident’s house as well as the move to Brooksby and unpacking in the resident’s new apartment home. Prospective residents can take advantage of as little or as many of these services as they wish. The maximum credit through Move On Us is up to $2,000.

Q: When do residents receive their Move On Us credit?

A: Once a prospective resident’s house sells through a Brooksby-preferred real estate agent, they can submit moving receipts for the services mentioned, and they will receive a moving services credit, up to $2,000, to their resident account. As soon as residents submit their receipts to me, I begin processing the credit.
