After 62 years of marriage and meal planning, Marianne Herrigel welcomes the opportunity to choose when she makes dinner or eats out.

“It’s delightful, really, to be out during the day doing things that we want to do,” she says. “And although I love to cook, it’s nice to not have to cook if I don’t want to. I have a nice kitchen where I can do anything that I want to do. Or I can pop into the apartment at 5 p.m. and say, ‘Let’s go down and get dinner tonight.’”

She and her husband Glenn moved to Lantern Hill in July, where they can choose from three on-campus restaurants, where food is made fresh to order, and most menu items are made from scratch on site.

What’s more convenient than not having to leave home to dine out? They don’t even have to bring a wallet. The Choice Dining Program at Lantern Hill allows residents greater flexibility when it comes to choosing when and where they spend their pre-set balance (included in their monthly service package) each month.

“With three restaurants to choose from and more traditional restaurant hours, it provides the choice families are looking for when it comes to dining out,” says Sales Director Randy Carroll.
