Sales Director Blake Marshall and Personal Moving Consultant Nancy Worthington are always on hand to welcome prospective residents and guests to Tallgrass Creek.

Earlier this year, Tallgrass Creek residents and the sales team welcomed about 70 first-time visitors to a “lunch and learn” at the Overland Park, Kans., Erickson Living community.

Guests strolled around the spacious clubhouse, toured model residences, and dined in the community’s Blue Sky Restaurant. They feasted on chateaubriand, French green beans, whipped potatoes, and a decadent white chocolate mousse topped with fresh berries.

Guests also learned about Hummingbird Square, Tallgrass Creek’s elegant new residence building, scheduled for completion in summer 2017. Hummingbird Square features 108 new residences with 18 different designs, including 7 never-before-seen floor plans.

Hummingbird Square is the fourth residence building at Tallgrass Creek, one of 19 retirement communities around the country managed by Baltimore, Md.-based Erickson Living.

Parties and priorities

Guests also learned about the priority list, which is composed of people who plan to move to an Erickson Living community. All it takes is a fully refundable $1,000 deposit and a $150-per-person, nonrefundable application fee to reserve a residence.

When prospective residents submit their deposit, that date is noted as their priority list date. Once their preferred floor plan becomes available, they have first right of refusal based on their joining date.

Priority list members are also invited to unique, getting-to-know-you events hosted by the sales team.

This year, priority list members have enjoyed a Hawaiian luau; a dessert and wine pairing; a series of seminars with valuable tips and resources for planning a stress-free move; a wellness expo featuring current fitness and health information; and several delicious, gourmet gatherings.

More events fill the calendar, and all are accompanied by mouthwatering fare prepared by Tallgrass Creek’s culinary experts.

“The events we host allow visitors to chat with residents and see firsthand why more than 400 people call this active community ‘home,’” says Sales Director Blake Marshall. “Equally important is reserving a spot on the priority list so you have the option of accepting the residence you want.”
