If it’s time to trade decades of cooking, cleaning, and household chores for an easier life, consider moving to Maris Grove, Erickson Living’s retirement community in Delaware County, Pa.

You’ll enjoy carefree living at Maris Grove. Its expert and efficient maintenance team is on the job 24/7. Should your appliances or heating and air-conditioning unit need attention, for example, a phone call to the front desk will inform the team immediately.

Its grounds crew clears the snow and grooms the beautiful 83-acre campus.

Multiple campus restaurants offer extensive choices of chef-prepared, cooked-to-order cuisine.

Your newspaper will be delivered to your door, your trash and recyclables will be collected there, and you’ll have a washer and dryer right in your apartment home.

Doctors’ appointments, trips to the bank or pharmacy, fitness workouts and swimming sessions—in fact, all campus activities and amenities—are as close as a walk down climate-controlled hallways and across glass-enclosed bridges.

Maris Grove and Erickson Living also provide resources that take stress and worry out of financing, downsizing, selling your house, and transitioning smoothly into community life.

Completing the financial process

Just like buying a house, reserving a home and putting down an entrance deposit involves paperwork, but Maris Grove sales associates will thoroughly explain and guide you through the financial process.

To ensure that Maris Grove is the right decision for you, consider meeting with a sales associate to fill out a financial information worksheet. The worksheet will help you determine what size apartment home will best suit your lifestyle and budget.

Before, during, and after your move, you’ll receive personal attention from the sales staff. They’ll know your name, treat you like family, and be just a phone call away to answer questions.

After your move, you’ll have additional peace of mind: whether you later decide to leave or you live out your life at Maris Grove, 90% of your entrance deposit will be returned to you or your estate.

Sorting, selling, moving

Wherever you are in your moving process, once you’ve joined Maris Grove’s priority list, you’ll have access to advice and assistance from Suzanne McAllister, the community’s personal moving consultant.

McAllister’s services, part of Erickson Realty and Moving Services, include referrals to a comprehensive list of preferred partners and complimentary coordination of all realty and moving needs, from downsizing and packing to choosing real estate and moving professionals.

During complimentary home visits, McAllister offers guidance about what furniture to bring to Maris Grove for a perfect fit in your new home.

Using one of her preferred real estate agents will simplify your move. The agent’s knowledge of your local housing market and excellent record of sales will also result in your home selling more quickly.

The average days on market (DOM) in 2016 for folks using a preferred agent in Maris Grove’s primary market area of Delaware, Chester, and New Castle counties was 39% less than the overall DOM in the same area, or 40 days for McAllister-recommended agents versus 65 days overall.

“Already in 2017, we are seeing houses sell extremely fast—some even before they are listed—and profitably due to low inventory levels and a large pool of buyers who are ready, able, and eager to purchase,” says McAllister. “People moving into our existing Brinton and Cardinal neighborhoods are taking advantage of the seller’s market and getting apartment homes at an extraordinary value with new, upgraded amenities.”

Feeling at home at Maris Grove

A month or so before their actual moving day, new residents receive a move-in packet designed to guide them through every step of the transition to their new home.

A “Countdown to Move” section provides a timeline of things to accomplish from 30 days to 3 days before your move.

Checking off the items on this extensive to-do list will keep you organized and will reduce your stress from worrying that you’ve forgotten “something” but can’t remember what it was.

Then, on your moving day, your stress level will go down even more because you’ll receive warm and friendly welcomes from your new neighbors and every staff person you encounter.

At Maris Grove, it truly is about you and your comfort. Choosing to move there means choosing to live a better life.

You’ll soon agree with many community members who say, “Maris Grove was the best decision I ever made. I wish I’d moved in sooner.”
