A floor plan of the one-bedroom Brighton with optional patio.

The Brighton is one of the community’s most popular one-bedroom floor plans.

From high-rise apartment buildings in China to the poverty-stricken coast of Jamaica, Pete Grogan has experienced a variety of living arrangements.

“It’s not just about the space,” says Pete, a retired electrical engineer. “It’s how you use it. It comes down to creating the life you want.”

Pete’s career with Anheuser Busch took him to China for five years. After he retired, Pete volunteered with the Peace Corps in Jamaica where he set up computer labs and taught computer skills to children.

When he returned to Houston, Tex., Pete leased an apartment in the medical center.

“I enjoyed walking to Hermann Park and Rice University,” he says. “It was nice to have those conveniences just outside my door.”

Conveniences located right on campus

When Pete began considering a move to Eagle’s Trace, the Erickson Living community in West Houston, he was drawn to the community’s spacious, 70-acre campus and abundant amenities, all within walking distance of resident apartments.

“I told Jodie [Schroeder, sales counselor at Eagle’s Trace,] that I could live in a closet,” says Pete with a laugh. “Not really, but I knew I didn’t need a large apartment to enjoy all the community has to offer.”

Schroeder showed Pete three apartments. He chose the one-bedroom, one-bath Brighton floor plan, which boasts an open, airy layout and spacious bedroom with walk-in closet.

“I moved during the Tax Day flood of 2016, so I’ve lived at Eagle’s Trace for a little over a year. The social benefits and the friendships I’ve made since I moved in are wonderful. I also enjoy working out in the fitness center four or five times a week.”

Schroeder says the Brighton is one of the community’s most popular one-bedroom floor plans.

“The generous living room can accommodate both dining and seating areas,” she says. “It’s an economical, efficient choice among our one-bedroom options.”

Special savings in 2017

For those considering a move to Eagle’s Trace, now is the time to act.

“We’re offering a special, limited-time promotion,” says Schroeder. “If you reserve an apartment now, we’ll waive the monthly service package for the remainder of the year. This offer is only good if you reserve by September 1, 2017, so the sooner you move in, the more money you’ll save.”
