Since last month’s opening of Ashby Ponds’ tenth residence building, Cherry Blossom Square, priority list membership at the sought-after Loudoun County, Va., community is blossoming too.

“The growth of our priority list has always been strong, but with the opening of Cherry Blossom Square—our first residence building in almost two years—membership is growing more rapidly than ever before,” says Ashby Ponds Director of Sales Holly Henderson.

She says this growth may, in part, be due to the upcoming opening of two additional residence buildings, Birch Point and Cypress Ridge, both of which are now more than 60% sold out and scheduled to open next year.

“Due to the extremely high demand, priority list membership is the only way to guarantee a home at Ashby Ponds,” says Henderson. “It’s also the gateway to fun and informative events designed specifically for our future residents.”

Taking advantage

As members of the priority list, Suzi and Don Weinert have made repeated visits to the Ashby Ponds campus from their house at Lake-of-the-Woods in Locust Grove for a variety of special events.

“We attend numerous daytime events, including open house tours, lunches, and presentations,” says Suzi. “Every visit reinforced our decision. We learned that Ashby Ponds anticipates every issue, offering sensible, convenient solutions.”

“We plan each event with our priority list members’ tastes and preferences in mind,” says Henderson. “These events are wonderful opportunities for our future community members to meet and form friendships with the people who will some day be their neighbors.”

Celebrating summer

Last month, Ashby Ponds priority list members enjoyed the opportunity to join reservists, those who have already claimed their home, for an open house at Cherry Blossom Square. This behind-the-scenes tour provided exclusive insight into the design of the new building, including a wide variety of spacious apartment homes.

“In addition to seeing our newest addition, one of the greatest benefits of the event was the opportunity for priority list members to meet and talk with other people who are preparing for their upcoming move,” says Henderson. “These are people who will not only be their neighbors one day but who are also in the middle of the moving process and have valuable insight to share.”

This month, priority list members with birthdays between April and July will enjoy celebrating their birthdays together as part of Ashby Ponds’ popular wine and cheese birthday parties.

“These special outings are our way of letting our priority list members know how much we appreciate them while providing a glimpse into the special events and activities our community members enjoy on a daily basis,” says Henderson.

Aside from special social events, like the open house and wine excursion birthday trips, priority list members also receive sought-after invitations to other events, including a home expo and health and wellness and financial seminars. They also receive first notice of new construction.

Access to the experts

Priority list members also enjoy exclusive access to Ashby Ponds Personal Moving Consultant Elizabeth McCumiskey. She meets with priority list members in their homes to provide information on the wide variety of resources available through Erickson Realty and Moving Services, including real estate agents, downsizing experts, cleanout services, packers, and movers.

“I want to make sure that everyone who wants to sell their house and move to Ashby Ponds can do so easily and with as little stress as possible,” says McCumiskey. “It is my number-one priority to make the move from an individual’s current house to Ashby Ponds as stress-free and seamless as possible.”

Another huge benefit to priority list membership is access to Ashby Ponds’ “Live the Life” suite. Members have the opportunity to stay on campus for a designated period of time and access the same amenities and services as current residents.

Guests are encouraged to select activities that interest them and then attend a club meeting, join residents for dinner, relax in the spa, see a show, or work out in the fitness center.

“It is an unbeatable way to experience real life at Ashby Ponds,” says Henderson.

Worry-free investing

Joining the priority list is easy and provides the peace of mind that comes with planning for the future. Members pay a fully refundable $1,000 deposit and a $150-per-person nonrefundable application fee.

Once this deposit is made, the date is noted as the member’s priority list date. Members are then encouraged to select a preferred floor plan that, once available, will be offered to them with right of first refusal based on their joining date.

“I encourage anyone interested in a future at Ashby Ponds to schedule a visit this summer or fall,” says Henderson. “This is an exciting time in the life of our community, and we are eager to share that excitement.”
