The cooler fall months bring with them a flurry of activity in Greenspring’s sales office.

“In the last two weeks, I’ve met with dozens of people who, now that the busy summer travel season is over, want to get serious about a future move to Greenspring,” says Sales Counselor Sheila Willing.

Meeting with people interested in calling Greenspring home provides Willing the perfect opportunity to share, in a pressure-free environment, all the inside information she’s gained through her 17-plus years at Greenspring.

“I meet with a wide range of people, from those early in the exploration process to those looking at options for their parents to those who know, with certainty, that Greenspring is where they wish to live,” she says. “Yet, regardless of where they are in the process, they all ask the same questions.”

The following are three of the most-frequently asked questions Willing addresses:

1 “What’s the secret? What do I need to do to ensure that, when I am ready to move, the Greenspring home of my choice will be available?”

A: This is the question I receive more than any other. Luckily, the answer is simple: Join the priority list. All it takes to join is a fully refundable $1,000 deposit and a $150-per-person nonrefundable application fee. The deposit reserves your priority date. Once your preferred apartment home becomes available, you will be given right of first refusal based on your joining date.

It’s important to note that there is no penalty should your preferred apartment home become available before you are ready to move. It is simply offered to the next member on the list and your priority list status remains the same.

While on the priority list, you will enjoy opportunities to learn more about our community, meet current residents, attend special priority list functions, and tour apartment homes.

2 “Greenspring is such a popular community; are there any apartment homes currently available?”

A: Despite the fact that Greenspring enjoys a 98% occupancy rate, higher than any other continuing care retirement community in the country, there are currently a handful of our most popular apartment homes available, including the best-selling two-bedroom, one-bath Fairmont and our sought-after studio homes, the Abbott and Addison.

However, because supply varies on a daily basis, I encourage anyone wishing to move to Greenspring in the short term to schedule a visit and explore their options.

I also encourage those already on the priority list to reevaluate their options on a regular basis. Waiting for that one, exact apartment home may take years. During that time, it’s possible for needs and desires to change. That’s why it is so important to keep in touch and to keep an eye on what’s currently available.

All Greenspring apartment homes, regardless of size, boast access to the same amenities and high standards, including recessed lighting in the living room, subway tile backsplashes in the kitchen, hand-tile work in the bathroom, and crown molding in the master bedroom and living room.

3 “We’ve lived in our house for many years. It seems like such a daunting project to move somewhere new. Are there resources available to help me take the leap?”

A: Definitely! Priority list members also enjoy exclusive access to Greenspring Personal Moving Consultant Anna Greves. She meets with priority list members in their home to provide complimentary coordination of all realty and moving needs, including downsizing, home staging, packing, and selection of a real estate professional.

She is thoroughly professional, an expert in her field, and attuned to the specific challenges of her clients. And as all those who know her can attest, her dedication, compassion, and commitment to her clients continue long after the sold sign appears on their lawn.
