Devonshire hosts programming that runs the gamut from lectures and musical performances to Broadway-quality live entertainment in its Stratford Performing Arts Center.

Bob and Joan Frasier moved in 2013 from Pittsburgh to Devonshire at PGA National, Erickson Living’s senior living community in Palm Beach Gardens.

Devonshire’s resort-style amenities, its reputation as a distinctive address, and its nearness to family members influenced their decision. But because they wanted to put down permanent roots in whatever senior living community they chose, they discussed what attributes would make their new address a comfortable home.

Bob advises prospective community members to do the same, especially now that Devonshire has fewer apartment styles available.

Here is his list of questions:

What size home do you need?

Many Devonshire community members have found they don’t need a large space for entertaining because the five clubhouse restaurants, cocktail lounge, and private dining room are ideal for family gatherings or hosting country club friends.

What floor plans would accommodate your furnishings and suit your lifestyle?

If you want to move sooner rather than later, be open to considering more than one floor plan. However, community members may also personalize their home to make it truly theirs.

Which floor do you live on?

For example, some pet owners prefer first-floor locations for easy access to walk their pets outdoors. But with ample access to elevators, many members are open to upper floors. And the concrete slab construction method removes concerns of noise from above.

Walkers who aim to log 10,000 steps a day appreciate that Devonshire’s three residence buildings are all connected internally to its clubhouse by climate-controlled hallways and bridges?

What exposure appeals to you?

Do you like awakening to morning sun or do you favor southeast Florida’s flamboyant sunsets? Do you want special light for an in-home art studio?

What activities and amenities are you seeking?

Devonshire’s 65,000-square-foot clubhouse, its social and entertainment hub, features five world-class restaurants; live entertainment three to four nights a week; an intimate movie theater; a performing arts center; an impressive roster of fitness classes; and an expanded calendar of clubs, groups, and travel opportunities. Devonshire community members also have corporate privileges to sports and activities at PGA National Resort & Spa.

Even if you haven’t answered every question, come to Devonshire to see it for yourself.

Tour its exquisitely updated clubhouse, beautifully maintained grounds, and impressive model apartment homes, the largest independent living apartments in southeast Florida.

And mingle with Devonshire’s community members. They’ll extend you a warm welcome and will make you feel at home.
