Ashby Ponds appoints a second sales counselor to meet growing demand

This September, Ashby Ponds celebrated its nine-year anniversary. Since opening day, the sought-after Erickson Living community in Ashburn, Va., continues to grow at an unprecedented rate. 

With the recent opening of Cherry Blossom Square earlier this year and upcoming 2018 opening of Birch Point and Cypress Ridge, the Ashby Ponds sales office is busier than ever helping the hundreds of people eager to move to the thriving community. 

In an effort to meet the demand, Ashby Ponds recently promoted senior sales associate Melissa Bates to the role of sales counselor. 

An integral member of the sales department since day one, Bates joins Dana Bradshaw as Ashby Ponds’ second sales counselor.

“I’m excited to continue to help future Ashby Ponds community members in this new role,” says Bates. “The best part of my job is seeing people thriving in their new homes, living life to the fullest.”

Recently, Bates sat down with the Tribune to discuss the most important questions she’s received this fall.

“Every question is important, and I take my time to honestly answer them all,” she says. “But there are some questions that come up more frequently than others. And it’s my belief that if one person is asking a question, chances are, other people are wondering the same thing.”

Q: I would like to move to Ashby Ponds as soon as possible. Are there any apartment homes currently available?

A: The introduction of three new residence buildings—Cherry Blossom Square, Birch Point, and Cypress Ridge—provides Ashby Ponds with an additional 273 apartment homes. Currently, Cherry Blossom Square is nearing 100% occupancy, while Birch Point, opening in January, is more than 80% reserved. And Cypress Ridge, opening this spring, is 75% reserved. 

A handful of popular floor plans are still available for those looking to move to Ashby Ponds next year. But it is important to note that these remaining homes will not last long. 

For those looking for a two-bedroom home, we still have a limited number of the sought-after Milbrook and McKinley apartment homes. 

The extra space provided with a two-bedroom home offers a wide range of options. Many of our current residents chose to use the second bedroom as a dedicated office, art studio, or entertainment center. In addition, the Milbrook and McKinley boast one and a half bathrooms. 

The largest two-bedroom apartment home currently available is the extra-large, two-bedroom, two-bath Pendleton, one of Ashby Ponds’ original and most popular floor plan designs. 

This year, our sales office witnessed an increased demand for larger apartment homes. The fact that a handful of Pendleton homes remain is a real bonus for anyone looking to move in the near future.   

We also have an option for those looking for one-bedroom living, most notably, the extra-large, one-bedroom Galloway, which offers one and a half bathrooms and a distinguished den. 

It’s important to note that our current inventory changes daily. I encourage anyone looking to move in the next year to schedule an appointment as soon as possible. Experience has taught us that these remaining homes will not last long. Typically, we see an increase in the number of people reserving homes in the last weeks of the year before prices increase next year. 

Q: With all of the new construction, what attention is given to Ashby Ponds’ older apartment homes?  

A: Great question. Because we are continually listening to feedback from both current and future community members, all of our newly constructed apartment homes feature airy layouts and beautiful finishes; modernized kitchens with granite countertops and stainless steel appliances; full-size, side-by-side washers and dryers; walk-in closets; and custom flooring and light fixtures.

In an effort to ensure that each and every apartment home available is held to the same high standard, next year all of Ashby Ponds’ apartments in the first neighborhood will be completely updated as they become available. What that means is that no matter what home you choose, whether it was built in 2008, 2012, or 2017, you will enjoy the same, high quality features. 

Q: As a priority list member, I recently learned about the Live the Life suite. Could you please share some details?

A: Access to the Live the Life suite, a specially designated apartment home, is a huge benefit of priority list membership. Reserving a stay in the suite provides the opportunity to live on campus for a designated period of time while enjoying access to the same amenities and services as our current residents. 

Guests of the Live the Life suite are encouraged to select activities that interest them and then attend a club meeting, join residents for dinner, relax in our spa, see a show, or work out in our fitness center. It is really an unbeatable experience.
