Geri Angel recently received certification from the Novi Ambassador Academy, an eight-week course designed to teach citizens all about the inner-workings of the city and its government.

Along with about 25 other people, Geri got a closeup look at city operations like zoning and how permits are pulled. The in-depth course included presentations from staff members, facility tours, and hands-on learning experiences. The program concluded with a graduation reception. Geri says she enjoyed learning more about the city she calls home and looks forward to sharing the information with her Fox Run neighbors.

“I believe that Fox Run is a part of Novi, and Novi is a part of Fox Run, and I have taken it upon myself to be a liaison between the two,” Geri says.

Last year, Geri completed the Lake Area Citizens Police Academy, where she learned about K-9 training, fraud investigation, and crime scene investigation. She and her fellow students also had the opportunity to tour a 911 emergency dispatch center.

“Never would I have had these opportunities if I didn’t live at Fox Run,” Geri says.
