To simplify her move from a condominium in northeast Philadelphia to Ann’s Choice, Erickson Living’s retirement community in Bucks County, Pa., Judy Rosenberg took advantage of assistance from the community’s personal moving consultant, Colleen Rosica.

Through Erickson Realty and Moving Services, Rosica provides complimentary coordination of all such needs, including downsizing, packing, and selection of a real estate professional. It’s available to people who have joined the priority list at Ann’s Choice, regardless of where they are in the moving process.

“Colleen was wonderful,” says Judy. “She came to my condo with the floor plan of my [chosen apartment at Ann’s Choice], measured the furniture I wanted to take, and suggested where I could place it. She was totally accurate.”

Top-notch experts

Judy was equally pleased with Rosica’s recommendation of a real estate agent. The agent has a strong sales record in Philadelphia proper, “but I would never have found her because she’s located in Feasterville,” Judy says.

By using a preferred agent, Judy received a credit in her Ann’s Choice account; it covered her moving costs.

The mover, another Rosica recommendation, took special care in packing Judy’s fragile items, especially her collection of Emmett Kelly figurines.

After 18 years in her condo, Judy says she had lots to dispose of. So her agent referred her to a professional cleanout person who took everything Judy left behind and also cleaned the condo.

Judy’s new home is a lovely extra-large one-bedroom, one-bath apartment style with a den. The floor plan features new carpeting, cabinets, granite counters, and stainless steel kitchen appliances.

Judy further customized her home with help from a recommended contractor—she replaced carpeting with laminate flooring and installed custom window treatments.

Judy’s move has changed her lifestyle for the better. “The activity level had dwindled at the condo community, my husband had passed away, and I was becoming a television junkie,” she explains.

At Ann’s Choice Judy has little TV time.

Her den holds some still unpacked moving boxes because unpacking has taken a back seat to campus activities and making new friends. Besides belonging to several special interest groups, Judy volunteers on campus.

“And,” she laughs, “I don’t have to cook.”
