Recently, members of Windsor Run’s priority list enjoyed the unique opportunity to meet many of the community’s preferred realty and moving professionals. “They really make your move a seamless transition,” says community member Barbara Malady.

According to U.S. Census figures released in July, Mecklenburg County, N.C., is the largest county in the state, with an estimated population of 1,076,837. The county’s estimated population growth rate between 2017 and 2018 was 6.43%, making it one of the fastest growing counties in North Carolina.

Mirroring this accelerated growth is Erickson Living’s Windsor Run community located in Matthews in Mecklenburg County. Since opening last May, the community has grown at a record pace necessitating the addition of a third residence building, Beech Hollow, opening later this year.

In an effort to address the needs of the hundreds of new community members moving to the community each month, Windsor Run’s personal moving consultants meet with future residents, offering the many benefits of the Erickson Realty and Moving Services program.

Introduced in 2007 and available at all of Erickson Living’s 20 communities, the program helps eliminate the many challenges people face when selling their house and preparing for their move. At the heart of Erickson Realty and Moving Services are the personal moving consultants, who work one on one with future residents to provide personalized assistance with everything from selecting a real estate professional to staging their home and packing and moving.

Powerful partner

“Our personal moving consultants make it their number-one priority to ensure that a future resident’s move, from start to finish, is as stress-free and seamless as possible,” says Erickson Living Regional Director of Sales Sharon Baksa, who started Erickson Realty and Moving Services. “By working with a network of carefully selected professionals [or preferred partners] chosen for the quality of services they provide, our personal moving consultants create customized moving plans unique to each individual customer’s desires. And most importantly, they are with their customers every step of the way.”

In the last five months, Windsor Run’s personal moving consultant and her team of real estate professionals helped community members sell $15 million in real estate.

“The personal moving consultant’s goal is to help make moves as seamless and stress-free as possible,” says Baksa. “For many people that starts with selling their current house. Our real estate agents are intimately aware of the market and the neighborhoods where they are selling. As a result, the homes they sell currently average 23 days on the market compared to 56 days for those not using a preferred agent.”

Success stories

“The help I received was invaluable,” says Pat Bell, who moved to Windsor Run from Sun City in May.

With guidance from Erickson Realty and Moving Services, Bell enlisted help to sell her home and move her personal belongings.

“Everyone was wonderful,” says Bell. “Prior to working with the Windsor Run team, my house sat on the market for 330 days. I received lots of visits but no offers. As soon as I turned things over to Windsor Run, everything changed. The preferred real estate agent came out to my house and took new photos and measurements. They suggested a few simple updates, nothing expensive. My house was listed on the market on Monday and sold that Friday. I am eternally grateful.”

“Moving doesn’t have to be the stressful nightmare many people fear it will be,” says Baksa. “Our team of trusted professionals understand firsthand all the ins and outs of selling a home and moving to Windsor Run. They do the heavy lifting so our new residents can begin to enjoy their exciting new life as soon as possible.”

That’s exactly what John Rourke did prior to his move to Windsor Run this summer.

“I’ve sold eight homes in my life and nothing even comes close to the experience I had moving to Windsor Run,” he says. “The preferred real estate agent I selected did a wonderful job. I received 100% of my asking price, something that never happened with all my other moves. They took care of all the steps along the way and I couldn’t be happier.”
