Sales Counselors Kristine Kluge and Suzy McAllister (not pictured) share a combined decades of experience guiding people through the process—from start to finish—of moving to a senior living community.

If Siena Lakes Sales Counselors Suzy McAllister or Kristine Kluge were to give advice on planning for retirement, they might refer to Sun Tzu, ancient Chinese general, military strategist, writer, and philosopher, who said, “Plan for what is difficult while it is easy; do what is great while it is small.”

McAllister has had years of experience helping people with the logistics of their retirement living arrangements, and she knows the benefits of a good plan. She spent several years as a personal moving consultant for Erickson Senior Living, as a real estate agent, and as a rehabilitation specialist for older properties.

Kluge, too, spent several years as a personal moving consultant for Erickson Realty and Moving Services, a special program that offers floor planning, real estate, home preparation, downsizing, and moving services to incoming residents.

Now as sales counselors at Siena Lakes, Kluge and McAllister combine their expertise to serve as advocates for folks making the transition to the Erickson Senior Living community in North Naples, Fla.

Proactive planning

“Moving to Siena Lakes is a very proactive way to approach aging,” says Kluge. “You can enjoy all the benefits of independent living in this gorgeous, amenity-rich community with peace of mind that additional care is available should you or your spouse ever need it.”

McAllister says most people she meets with about Siena Lakes want to be in control of their retirement.

“With Siena Lakes opening in two years, you can reserve your home now knowing you have a two-year timeline for putting your house on the market, doing any downsizing, and planning for the future,” says McAllister. “Planning ahead is smart planning.”

As a continuing care retirement community, Siena Lakes will provide modern, independent living apartment homes, well-outfitted community spaces and amenities, and fabulous social activities—with a continuing care neighborhood on site.

“The number one regret I’ve heard throughout my career is, ‘I wish I had moved sooner,’” Kluge says. “People who plan ahead are truly doing themselves a favor because they can live with less worry and more peace of mind. Plus, they have this fabulous community as their home!”

Five steps to a stress-free move

To help prepare a timeline for your move to Siena Lakes, McAllister and Kluge recommend taking this five-step approach:

1. Schedule a personal visit with your sales counselor (McAllister or Kluge) to learn more about Siena Lakes and discuss your needs and wants for your new home to help you decide if Siena Lakes is right for you.

2. Schedule a home visit with your sales counselor. She will help you choose a floor plan and confer with you on furniture placement in your new home.

3. Together, you and your sales counselor will develop a timeline for your move, including when to list your current house.

4. Your sales counselor will provide you with a list of recommended moving vendors such as real estate agents, moving companies, and senior move managers.

5. The Siena Lakes sales team will always be at the ready to answer any questions you have along the way.
