As the steamy summer months give way to gentle fall breezes, the Devonshire sales office is buzzing with record-breaking activity meeting with people from all over the country who wish to escape to Florida and avoid the traditional winter weather.

“The onset of fall leads many to start thinking about the realities of what’s coming next—winter,” says Devonshire Director of Sales Kathy McCrossin. “A majority of people we meet with either want to find out how to move to Devonshire before the end of the year or how to make this the last winter they spend in their current house.”

Whatever the ultimate goal, McCrossin’s advice is the same—join the priority list, the only guaranteed way to reserve a future home at the popular Erickson Living community at PGA National. In addition, Devonshire priority list membership provides premier access to community information, including price adjustments and apartment home availability.

Taking advantage

This summer, priority list members received invitations to the Moving Made Simple luncheon, a unique seminar featuring Devonshire’s preferred real estate agents and senior move managers. Following a delicious meal, priority list members enjoyed the unique opportunity to tour a variety of apartment homes, chat with resident ambassadors, meet local real estate agents, and gather valuable information from downsizing and moving experts.

Priority list members also receive sought-after invitations to other special events, including the “Introduction to the Priority List” breakfast, the annual tour of homes, and the end-of-the-year holiday celebration.

Shortly after the New Year, priority list members will receive their exclusive invitations to the most popular priority list event of the year—the Honda Classic at PGA National.

“These special events are our way of letting our priority list members know how much we appreciate them while providing resources designed to help them make informed decisions,” says McCrossin.

People on the priority list have direct access to Devonshire Personal Moving Consultant Donna Schneider, who, if requested, meets with members in their homes and provides information on the wide variety of resources available through Erickson Realty and Moving Services.

Joining the priority is easy and provides the peace of mind that comes with planning for the future. Members pay a fully refundable $1,000 deposit and a $150-per-person nonrefundable application fee.

Once this deposit is made, the date is noted as the member’s priority list date. Members are then encouraged to select a preferred floor plan style that, once available, will be offered to them with right of first refusal based on their joining date.

“I encourage anyone interested in a future at Devonshire to schedule a visit this fall,” says McCrossin. “This is an exciting time in the life of our community, and we are eager to share that excitement.”
