Mary and Peter Zimmerman have been visiting the Siena Lakes sales center and selecting custom finishes for their new apartment home.

For Mary and Peter Zimmerman, planning the next phase of their life together is simple: They want a safe, maintenance-free home where they can stay active, meet new people, and be within a short distance of the beach, their country club, library, and church.

Making the choice to reserve a one-bedroom apartment at the soon-to-be-built Siena Lakes community in Naples, Fla., was an easy one since it checked off all these boxes and more. “Since the building is so new, we won’t have to worry about hurricanes because it will be up to the newest hurricane codes,” Peter explains. “It’s a big plus to live in a residence building that will make us feel safe and secure.”

Maintenance-free perks

The Zimmermans are also greatly looking forward to the maintenance-free perks offered at Siena Lakes. “All I have to do is turn a key to get into our new place,” Mary says. “We don’t have to worry about lawns, roofs, or replacing equipment. We can’t wait to give up all of those maintenance jobs.”

As a forthcoming continuing care retirement community, Siena Lakes has a fun and engaging culture for all its residents, which is exactly what this social husband and wife want.

“We currently live in a very social community,” says Peter. “Our neighbors are our friends; we enjoy the dining room and business center activities as well as the wonderful clubs we belong to. Siena Lakes is a better version of that and fits our lifestyle perfectly, which we love.”

Being the lively town that it is, Naples keeps the Zimmermans active and busy. Siena Lakes’ numerous activities and clubs will increase that even more. “We fully intend to be involved in the community book club, fitness activities, walking trails, and more,” says Mary. “It won’t be hard to pick out a lot of things to maintain our dynamic routine.”

“We are not moving into an ‘old person’ home,” adds Peter. “We are moving into an energetic community of active seniors. It will be a beautiful, vibrant, and exciting place to live. The way the sales team has described the social aspects, dining experiences, cocktail menus, and endless activities proves that it’s going to be a fabulous life.”

They both add, "We can't wait to move!"
