Kristen Yaquinto is Fox Run’s personal moving consultant.

Kristen Yaquinto is a familiar face at Fox Run. She joined the sales team as a sales manager back in 2014. About a year ago, she stepped into a new role as personal moving consultant; you can find her assisting future Fox Run residents with all aspects of selling their houses and moving to the Novi, Mich., Erickson Living-managed community.

Making a plan

Through the Erickson Realty and Moving Services program, Yaquinto provides complimentary coordination of all realty and moving needs, including downsizing, home staging, packing, and selecting a real estate professional.

“I wanted to work more directly and on a personal level with our residents,” Yaquinto says of her role change. “I feel it is a privilege to meet with our future residents in their homes, and I am excited to provide a plan to make a move to Fox Run easier and smoother than they ever anticipated.”

Yaquinto’s professional background is in the hospitality industry. She has a degree in hospitality management from Madonna University in Livonia, Mich. Prior to Fox Run, she worked for Marriott Hotels in catering sales and human resources.

“I love working with people, I enjoy a good challenge, I’m a great listener, and I believe in providing excellent customer service,” she says.

What’s in a home visit

Those skills and talents have been put to good use in Yaquinto’s role as Fox Run’s personal moving consultant, where she gets to know each prospective community member on a personal level so that she can provide the right kind of assistance for their particular situation. One of the ways she accomplishes that is by visiting future residents in their homes to learn about their individual needs and any challenges they’re facing in the downsizing or moving process.

Yaquinto spends about two hours during these visits measuring their furniture and helping them figure out which pieces will best fit in the apartment home they’ve chosen at Fox Run. She also assesses their downsizing needs and offers options for the furniture and household items they don’t want to keep.

“It’s an opportunity to become better acquainted with future community members in their own homes,” she says. “I especially love when they share a special memory or history behind a piece of furniture or item they want to bring to their new home at Fox Run. It is rewarding to help them overcome any obstacles and fears about moving.”

When she leaves a home visit, Yaquinto hopes she has helped her clients understand how their move can be “easy, seamless, and stress-free.” Fox Run Sales Director Allison Murphy says Yaquinto is definitely the right person for that job.

“I’m thrilled Kristen has taken on the role of personal moving consultant,” Murphy says. “She is passionate about our mission to help people live better lives, and it shows in every interaction. I know that our future residents will love working with her.”

Yaquinto and her husband live in Livonia with their teenage son. When she’s not helping future residents make the move to Fox Run, much of her time is dedicated to her son’s extracurricular activities, which include sports and playing the cello. When she has down time, she likes to spend it exercising and enjoying the outdoors.

“I have peace of mind being able to go to the gym on a regular basis, and when the weather is warm, I try to be active outdoors by walking and riding my bike,” she says.
