Peter Han considered all the reasons he and his wife Karin could benefit from a move to Eagle’s Trace.

Peter Han knows how easy it can be to second-guess an important decision, especially one as significant as choosing to move to a senior living community.

“Most people look for a reason not to move,” says Peter. “They don’t want to leave their house. They want their children and grandchildren to have a place to visit. The list goes on.”

Peter and his wife Karin took a different approach.

“We found reasons to move,” says Peter. “Our top three motivating factors were exercise, safety and security, and continuing care options.”

Peter and Karin were living in Oklahoma City when they found Eagle’s Trace, an Erickson Living-managed community in West Houston, online.

“Eagle’s Trace had everything we wanted,” says Peter. “It offered plenty of opportunities to stay active, 24-hour security, and the full continuum of care right on campus. That made our decision easy. We reserved an apartment two weeks after our first visit.”

Informed decisions

The couple moved into the Galveston Crossing residence building at Eagle’s Trace in July 2018, and now serve as resident ambassadors, telling their story and helping others make informed decisions.

“Our ambassadors are the greatest resource you can find,” says Pamela Burgeson, sales director. “They are the people who really have the inside scoop on what life is like at Eagle’s Trace.”

Peter and Karin were ambassadors at a recent event for priority list members to learn about the newest residence building, Austin Square, now under construction at Eagle’s Trace.

Priority list members, those interested in a potential move to the community, put down a fully refundable $1,000 deposit to reserve their place in line for the apartment home of their choice.

Perks of the priority list include invitations to exclusive events, advance notice of important community news, and realty and moving assistance from a personal moving consultant.

Nearly 200 priority list members came to learn about Austin Square, a testament to the growing interest in this lifestyle, says Peter.

“You have to approach this decision from the perspective of what’s best for you,” he says. “What is it you need? At Eagle’s Trace, we enjoy a good, worry-free life. I’m glad we considered reasons to move, instead of letting reasons not to move hold us back.”

Ready to move

John and Jan Strapach have been priority list members at Eagle’s Trace since 2014. They live in Houston’s Shadow Briar neighborhood and have already seen one of their neighbors, Edie Hedman, move to Eagle’s Trace.

“We’ve known about Eagle’s Trace since it opened,” says John. “Now, we’re ready to move and have already been studying the floor plans scheduled for Austin Square. We know we’d like a two-bedroom apartment, so we can use the second bedroom as a den and computer room.”

For those interested in a potential move to Eagle’s Trace, Burgeson says there’s no better way to get connected to the community than through the priority list.

“The priority list gives you access to all the resources available through our sales team and also gives you the best choice of apartments when the time is right for a move,” says Burgeson. “Give us a call to talk about what makes Eagle’s Trace such a special place to live.”
