City blackout

Over the last several years, Mary Wolfe has helped 960 adults secure a worry-free retirement by providing assistance during their moves to Fox Run. This year marks Wolfe s sixth anniversary of working as the personal moving consultant at the Erickson Living community in Novi, Mich.

On July 30, Henry Ford would have turned 150 years old. History buffs at Fox Run took the opportunity to learn more about the famous creator of the Model T and founder of Ford Motor Company.

Celebrations of Sukkot

A group of Jewish retirees living at Fox Run gathered one early autumn afternoon to decorate a sukkah that was erected in one of the community s courtyards. A sukkah is a temporary shelter used during celebrations of Sukkot, a joyous Jewish holiday that follows Yom Kippur.

Bon Hiscoe has had a long and successful career in medicine, and at 90 years of age, he is still contributing to his field. Bon attended medical school at Columbia University. It was during his studies that he met his late wife Helen, who was teaching at Vassar College at the time. The couple married and later moved to Coal Mountain, W. Va., where Bon completed his residency.

Milt and Rochelle Goldman haven t given a thought to home maintenance since March. Instead, they re enjoying meeting all their new neighbors at Fox Run, an Erickson Living community in Novi, Mich.

The Boyntons' garden

In 2010, Irv and Alyce Boynton decided their large Commerce Township, Mich., house on a two-acre lot was no longer the right fit for their retirement needs. So they moved just nine miles away to Fox Run, an Erickson Living community in Novi, Mich.

Vern and Noni St. Amand spent four years living in Rome when Vern worked in marketing for General Motors. Decades have passed since they lived abroad, but the St. Amands still maintain a close connection to the Italian culture that they fell in love with many years ago. Vern and Noni have since retired and now live at Fox Run, an Erickson Living community in Novi, Mich.

June 30 marked an important milestone for Fox Run. The Erickson Living community in Novi., Mich., celebrated its tenth anniversary on that day. To commemorate the occasion, staff and residents planned a week s worth of special events.
