Each December, Betty Kenealy reflects on her place in American history.

It’s a day I’ve never forgotten,” says Elizabeth “Betty” Kenealy, a community member at Greenspring, in Springfield, Va., and a survivor of the December 7, 1941, Japanese bombing at Pearl Harbor.

With a professional staff of 3 employees and more than 60 resident volunteers, Greenspring’s in-house cable channel recently received three bronze International Telly Awards. Since the channel’s inception in 1999, the station has received an impressive 29 Telly Awards.

Personal Moving Consultant Anna Greves has literally helped hundreds of people move to Greenspring in Springfield, Va.

“Before I moved to Greenspring, I had friends tell me I was too young,” says 73-year-old Sue Leathers. “And I just laughed. Too young for what—to have fun? No! I’m too young to waste my time caring for a too-big house when I could be having the time of my life.”

Sue Leathers loves her Abbott studio apartment home because she has more time for fun and activities.

“I love my Abbott studio apartment home at Greenspring,” says community member Sue Leathers. “For the first time ever, my life is now my own. I’m no longer spending time keeping house and dealing with an overload of stuff.
