Bocce and shuffleboard are just two of the many activities Bob and Jan John enjoy participating in at Maris Grove.

On February 18 six years ago, Bob and Jan John took a step toward their future. They had visited Maris Grove, the Erickson Living community in Delaware County, Pa., several times, liked what they saw, and knew people who lived there. On this particular visit, they expected only to tour some apartment homes and join the priority list.

It was spring 2011. She was a communications specialist, recently hired to staff the front desk in Maris Grove’s Brinton Clubhouse neighborhood. He was a maintenance mechanic working in the same neighborhood and beginning his first day on the job. 

By August, Destinee Akley and Nick Inverso were on their way to becoming a couple.

Denise and Bob Dill, who moved to Maris Grove last summer, are especially happy to have shed all the homeowner worries they had encountered during  winters past.

Before they moved to Maris Grove, Denise and Bob Dill sampled its carefree lifestyle whenever they visited Denise’s mother, who was one of the first people to move to Erickson Living’s retirement community in Delaware County, Pa. She lived there for five years.

In search of a different job after 25 years as a Pennsylvania state trooper, in 2009 David Connon applied for a security position at Maris Grove, Erickson Living’s retirement community in Delaware County, Pa.

The eight-inch snowfall last March at Maris Grove—lots of snow but cleared sidewalks and roadways.

When Frank O’Brien moved from Lake Monticello, Va., to Maris Grove in 2016, he left homeowner and yard care responsibilities behind. 

Because Frank detests everything about yard care, he’s happy that Maris Grove’s general services department rakes the leaves and clears the snow.

The kitchen in the two-bedroom Fairmont model apartment is both gorgeous and efficient. It features updated granite countertops, vinyl plank flooring, and stainless steel appliances. The model also functions as a smart home.

In response to consumer tastes in apartment living today, Maris Grove began updating the finishes and appliances in its model apartment homes.
