With the grand opening of Windsor Run, Erickson Living’s first North Carolina community, only weeks away, plans are currently under way for the arrival of the first community members. In addition to preparing for the highly anticipated grand opening, the sales team is also busy meeting with people eager to reserve one of the few remaining apartment homes.

This spring Windsor Run will welcome its first community members to the Erickson Living community in Matthews, N.C. Eagerly anticipating their move from the nearby Mayfair community in south Charlotte, Buck and Eileen Gatewood are excited to be counted among the community’s first residents.

With only a few short months until Windsor Run opens its doors to the Erickson Living community’s first residents, the Matthews, N.C., campus is practically buzzing with activity. Among the community’s top priorities is hiring dedicated staff members to meet the needs of Windsor Run’s pioneer residents.

Interior work has begun on Woodland Commons Clubhouse and Dogwood Place and Sycamore Square residence buildings.

One year ago, the sales staff at Windsor Run, Erickson Living’s first North Carolina community, began accepting reservations for the community’s first 216 apartment homes. Now, just 12 months later, plans are under way for its grand opening this spring. 

Darla and Ben Schwartz have started and joined several clubs and activities since moving to Wind Crest from Evergreen a year ago.

For Darla and Ben Schwartz, the most important factor in their next home wasn’t size, location, amenities, or cost. Those topped their list, yes. But what mattered most was that they could bring their two Australian shepherds, Amy and Aussie. 

“They’re our kids,” Darla says of the eleven-year-old litter mates.
