COVID-19 Response Cedar Crest has taken extraordinary measures to keep residents, staff, and visitors to our communities safe and well protected. Our thoughtful and deliberate response to COVID-19 is in alignment with CDC, state, and local infection prevention protocols, and designed to protect the health and well-being of residents, employees, vendors, and their families. With proven infection prevention protocols in place, residents are able to confidently go about their day, enjoying everything our community has to offer. COVID-19 Vaccination Update We are excited to be working in partnership with CVS/Omnicare to bring the much-anticipated COVID-19 vaccine to our residents and employees! A detailed vaccination administration schedule is currently underway. We will be reaching out directly to residents and staff when specific dates and locations for their vaccination group have been determined. Independent Living Visitor Requirements We are pleased to welcome family and friends back to the community, with safety precautions in place to protect the health and safety of residents and staff. All independent living visitors must answer COVID-19 screening questions prior to gaining entry to the community.Independent living visitors are required to follow all directional signage, practice safe social distancing, and wear a face mask as they move through public areas of the community.Visits must take place within the resident's apartment home or outdoors. Residents have a wide variety of dining options from which to choose. Most communities have reopened their cafés, pubs, and taverns and are also offering food and beverage carryout service. Many communities have begun reopening on-site restaurants for reserved seated dining. Residents who prefer to dine in their apartment home can order hot meals on a daily basis for delivery to their doorsteps. What happens if a resident isn't comfortable going out for medications or other necessary items? Under special circumstances, we offer a concierge service that delivers groceries, prescriptions, packages, and other items a resident has ordered to their doorstep. Can residents still get to their medical appointments? At many of our communities, the on-site medical center is now open for appointments. All communities continue to offer telehealth, which is the ability to have a telephone appointment with a member of our medical staff from the comfort of a resident’s apartment home. If a resident needs to get to a medical appointment off campus, we are still offering transportation for these types of situations only. Have community amenities and services reopened? Yes, all campuses are in the process of systematically reopening many on-site amenities and services and are currently offering residents a variety of dining options. How is the community helping to maintain social distancing now that amenities and services have reopened? Since appropriate social distancing is paramount to stopping the spread of COVID-19, we have posted maximum capacities for all of our amenities and services. The fitness center, aquatics center, salon, medical center, and bank are open by appointment. What is expected of residents during this stage of reopening? Residents should continue to follow all current COVID-19 preventive measures. This includes wearing a mask over the nose and mouth at all times when outside of their apartment home, washing hands thoroughly and frequently throughout the day, maintaining six feet of distance from others, and staying home and notifying the medical center if they feel sick. If a resident chooses to leave the community grounds, what is the process when they return? Residents are required to show their badge or parking pass/sticker in order to gain entry to the community. Residents who leave the community grounds should be mindful that they are increasing their risk of coming in contact with someone who is carrying COVID-19. For that reason, upon return, residents should be vigilant in protecting themselves and others by thoroughly washing their hands, practicing safe social distancing, and wearing a face mask. Residents who feel unwell should immediately call the on-site medical center for guidance. We're finding new ways to stay well cared for and connected.
