HOUSTON, TX---For 365 days a year, the firefighters and paramedics of Houston Fire Station #86 on Briar Forest serve the citizens of West Houston, including those who live at nearby Eagle's Trace retirement community.
The residents of Eagle's Trace aptly picked Valentine's Day to show their appreciation for a job well done.
Ten residents of the Erickson Living's Community Outreach Committee visited Fire Station #86 on the morning of February 14th, bringing a box of homemade desserts for each station member along with a large red Valentine's Day card signed at Eagle's Trace.
The residents also delivered cookies, brownies and cards to the EMS team employed at Eagle's Trace.
Nancy Bell served as the project coordinator. "As residents, our daily lives are greatly enhanced by their dedication and professionalism. The EMS team at Eagle' s Trace and at Fire Station #86 are truly our first responders," she stated.
"For us and our families, it's comforting that they are always working hard on our behalf, and we wanted to show them our heartfelt appreciation," described Ms. Bell. "My personal motto this year is that, step by step, we make the world better. These folks certainly deserved a wonderful day."
