“I first learned about a career at Linden Ponds from my cousin who works in dining services,” says Patrick Bulambo. “She told me this community was a great place to work. I took her advice and she was right! I’m happy working here and very grateful, not only for my supportive supervisors, but for the tuition reimbursement to attend college, and opportunities to grow within the company.”

This support is one of many reasons why Erickson Senior Living continues to attract and retain dedicated staff members. A recent study by the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans found that “employers whose engagement levels are high offer attractive benefits including paid leave, health insurance, retirement, and health and well-being incentives.”

Linden Ponds’ comprehensive total rewards go beyond typical employee benefit plans. In addition to offering multiple health care plans and choices, employees receive a full range of support to help build their careers while enjoying an enviable work-life balance. Other competitive benefits include tuition reimbursement, 401K with company match, generous paid time off, online training classes, and a wide range of discount programs.

“Our team members are an invaluable part of the Linden Ponds community,” says director of human resources Tina Zagarri. “As a result, we take great care in providing a supportive and collaborative work environment that fosters innovations and opens the doors to career development and expanded job opportunities.”

Patrick began serving the Linden Ponds community in 2018 as a utility worker before earning a promotion to team leader and then housekeeping supervisor.

“I am very grateful for the support I receive from my supervisors,” says Patrick. “I’ve been given many opportunities to grow while also enjoying a flexible schedule, allowing me to work on my college degree.”

While working at Linden Ponds, Patrick began taking classes at Massasoit Community College and is now working toward a degree in chemistry at Bridgewater State University.

“The tuition reimbursement is very helpful for paying for school,” he says. “And when it comes time to register for classes, my managers are always helpful in adjusting my schedule, providing good balance between by personal and professional life. I really feel supported and encouraged.”

For Patrick, serving Linden Ponds community members on a daily basis, also provides numerous benefits that a career outside of Erickson Senior Living does not offer.

“The residents are one of the best parts of my job,” he says. “I really enjoy our interactions. Everyone is so nice, asking questions about my life and school, showing that they care.”

As he embarks on his 6th year at Linden Ponds, Patrick looks forward to paying forward the support he’s received to the team members he supervises.

“I recognize that I serve as an example to my team,” he says. “In fact, one of my team members is now in school, taking advantage of the tuition reimbursement, because of my example. That’s a really great feeling. I’m grateful to work at Linden Ponds, the opportunity to go to school while also growing within the company.”
