Secure Your Financial Future at Riderwood

Riderwood Retirement Costs

There are two financial components to living at Riderwood:

  1. The  Refundable Entrance Deposit*
This one-time entrance payment secures your independent living apartment home for as long as you live here. It’s refundable to you or to your estate.
  2. Monthly Service Package**
The convenient Monthly Service Package bundles almost all of your regular living expenses into a single monthly fee for a set amount.

You don’t move in and stay in. You can still work and have activities that you do outside. It’s really independent living.

I have chosen to use the workout facilities here, as well as the pool and the spa. I’m able to maintain my needs with what’s available here--and it doesn’t cost anything.

Riderwood’s Key Financial Indicators

Riderwood’s track record of financial strength and stability make us the best choice among Silver Spring senior living communities.

  • Consistent Growth
Since opening our doors in 2000, Riderwood has seen steady and consistent growth. Our community master development plan is complete. We are the nation’s largest CCRC with four residential neighborhoods, four clubhouses, and a dedicated continuing care health services neighborhood.

  • Profits stay within the community
As a not-for-profit community, Riderwood reinvests earnings into the community to provide residents with an extraordinary lifestyle at an affordable cost.

  • Fee-for-service advantage
As a fee-for-service community, we don’t make you pay upfront for health care services that you may never need. Unlike a Life Care model, we only charge for a higher level of care when and if it’s needed—an approach that could save you and your family thousands of dollars every year that you remain independent.

  • Home for Life Commitment
Riderwood maintains a Benevolent Care Fund designed specifically to assist eligible residents who outlive their resources. No one has ever been asked to leave the community because of a genuine inability to pay.

  • A solid foundation
Riderwood is one of 19 communities managed by Erickson Living, one of the nation’s largest developers and operators of continuing care retirement communities.

*Carefully read the Residence and Care Agreement for the conditions that must be satisfied before the Provider is required to pay the Entrance Deposit Refund.

**Ancillary services are available for an additional fee.
